Strategies to Avoid Negative Marking in CUET UG 2026

To avoid negative marking in CUET 2026, students must follow below strategies:

Understand CUET UG Syllabus Thoroughly

  • Candidates must focus on only the official CUET UG 2026 syllabus released by NTA.
  • Focus on NCERT textbooks for Class 12 (and Class 11 where applicable).
  • Avoid studying irrelevant topics.

Avoid Blind Guessing at All Costs

  • Blind guessing is the biggest enemy in CUET UG.
  • If a candidate is less than 50% sure, skip the question.
  • If a test taker is not able to eliminate at least two options, it is safer to leave the question unattempted.

Use the Option Elimination Technique

Using elimination option help candidate mark the answer with more accuracy. To eliminate options, student must removes incorrect choices using logic and formulas. This technique is extremely effective in English, General Test, Economics, Political Science, and Biology.
