The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 is likely to be held during the third week of May 2026, with the announcement for the same will be likely in February 2026, and for registration is likely in March 2026. Application for the admission is to be made through the official IISER admissions website.

IAT 2025 Exam Analysis
Students who had opted for PCM in their class 12 std, found the biology section comparatively moderate to difficult and the students who had opted PCB in their class 12 found the Mathematics portion to be moderately difficult. for the common subjects for both the stream students which are Chemistry and Physics, the exam difficulty level was moderately easy. The overall difficulty level of IISER Entrance Exam 2025 was found to be moderate. It was also found that many questions were indirectly repeated from the previous year questions on the subjects biology and mathematics. In the physics sections questions were maximum asked from theory-based type instead of numerical-based questions.
Some candidates who had appeared in the JEE exam found the exam difficulty level the same as the JEE exam.

With a 7,000 rank in the SC category, admission to any IISER (including newer campuses) is not possible as per 2025 cutoffs. Cutoff ranks for SC category in IISERs generally close between 125 (most competitive) and 750 (least competitive).
