The exam authorities will release the IIT JAM 2026 question papers after the commencement of the IIT JAM 2026 exam, along with the provisional answer keys. The IIT JAM question papers will be released for each paper/subject in PDF format. Candidates can download the question paper of IIT JAM as per their preferred subject from the official website. IIT JAM 2026 Exam Pattern and Structure
IIT JAM exam 2026 is computer-based test of 3 hours, having 60 questions with total of 100 marks. The exam is conducted for seven subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Economics. Refer to the table below:

JAM 2026 Examination for all the Test Papers will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) where the candidates will be shown the questions in a random sequence on a computer screen.
Section - A contains a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) involving 10 questions of one mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one choice is the correct answer. Candidates can mark their answer by clicking one of the choices. A wrong answer will result in negative marks. For each wrong answer to 1 mark
questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted and similarly for each wrong answer to 2 marks questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted.
IIT Bombay, the examination-conducting body, will be conducting IIT JAM 2026 for the academic year 2026-2027. Aspirants of IIT JAM 2026 examination must go through the exam pattern carefully before starting the preparation.
The JAM 2026 examination will be conducted in such a way that the question paper for each subject will have 60 questions. These 60 questions will be in the format of MCQ, MSQ and NAT type.

Candidates seeking admission to select postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2026-27 must appear in JAM 2026 Examination. There is no age restriction. JAM 2026 Examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test in SEVEN Test Papers
