How to Attempt IIT JAM Mock Test

In the IIT JAM mock test, candidates can view the different sections present in the test, an online calculator, and a table informing them about the number of questions they answered. There is also a timer indicating the time elapsed while solving the mock test. Other elements that form part of the IIT JAM mock test are:

  • Name of paper/ subject
  • Exam section (A, B, or C)
  • Question type (MCQ, MSQ, or NAT)
  • Marking scheme for each question
  • Timer
  • Scientific calculator
  • Zoom in or zoom out tool

JAM exam duration is three hours. The question paper has three sections. There are a total of 60 questions in IIT JAM. Students have enough time to solve the question. But, IIT JAM exam is concept-based, and the difficulty level of the test is moderate. This means students' conceptual knowledge must be perfect to solve JAM questions. Numerical questions might be time-consuming. Here we have provided a few tips to practice the IIT JAM mock test.

  • Start solving the easy sections.
  • You might think 3 hours is enough for 60 questions, but tricky questions may consume much time. So it becomes important to manage time.
  • After every mock test, analyse your performance. Focus on improving the mistakes and sections that consumed much time.
  • Don't get disappointed if you score less in the mock test. Try improving after each test, and do not repeat the same mistake
