The IIT Bombay has postponed the IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card release date. The IIT JAM 2026 admit card will be announced soon on its official website. Students are advised to check the site on regular basis.

 Students will be able to download the IIT JAM admit card 2026 by logging in to their registered account with the help of login credentials, i.e., enrolment ID or email ID and password. Candidates who have submitted the IIT JAM application form 2026 will be issued the admit card. 

The IIT JAM Hall Ticket 2026 will consist of IIT JAM exam centre details like venue, shift timings, and reporting timings. Those candidates who will not carry the IIT JAM 2026 admit card to the examination centre will not be allowed to appear for the IIT JAM 2026 exam.

IIT JAM exam will be conducted on February 15, 2026, at 116 exam centres across the nation.

How to Download IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card?

  • Candidates can follow this advice to download their admit card for the IIT JAM 2026 exam.
    Open the IIT JAM 2026 official website: https://jam2026.iitb.ac.in/. 
  • Click on the JOAPS admit card. Solve the given arithmetic expression and click on the submit button 
  • Check the declaration box, then enter your signature and click on the "Download Admit Card" button.

After downloading, candidates need to take a printout of the IIT JAM admit card and carry it to the allotted exam centre along with an original copy of a valid ID proof. It may be noted that candidates not carrying their admit card or ID proof at the time of the exam will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Q:   Will IIT Madras send the IIT JAM admit card via post?
A: 

No, IIT Madras, the examination authority will not send the JAM 2025 admit card by post and candidates had to download it online from the official website. Students who appeared for IIT JAM 2025 must have download the admit card in an online mode as soon as it will be released and not delay it till last moment.

Candidates were advised to take multiple printouts and check the details printed on the IIT JAM 2025 admit card carefully. In case a candidate lacks a proper internet connection, then he or she can visit a nearby Common Service Centre or CSC or take the help of teachers or peers to download and print the admit card of IIT JAM 2025.

Important Instructions on IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card

Candidates need to read the instructions present on their admit card for the IIT JAM exam very carefully.

  1. Aspirants need to carry their JAM admit card to their allotted test centre along with one photo ID. An original copy of the photo ID card needs to be carried by aspirants as a scanned copy of the photocopy will not be accepted. Photo ID cards that candidates can carry to their IIT JAM exam centre are- College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, and Aadhaar-UID.
  2. The print of the IIT JAM admit card has to be taken on A4-size paper by using a colour laser printer (preferably). After taking a printout of the admit card, candidates need to ensure that their signature and photograph are clear.
  3. Aspirants are advised to visit or locate their exam centre at least a day prior to the exam. 
  4. Candidates need to ensure that their fingertips do not have any coating (example: ink, mehndi, henna, or tattoo) as a biometric system of verification will be done on the exam day. 
  5. Aspirants need to report to their allotted IIT JAM exam centre at least 90 minutes before the exam starts for identity verification.
  6. Candidates will be allowed to take the IIT JAM exam only after their credentials have been verified by JAM Officials.
  7. Candidates will be allowed to sit at their allotted seat for IIT JAM 2026, 40 minutes before the exam is scheduled to start. Further, 20 minutes before the exam starts, candidates will be allowed to log in and read the exam instructions. 
  8. Candidates will not be able to log in 30 minutes after the exam has started.
  9. Candidates will not be permitted to leave their exam hall before the exam ends.
  10. In the IIT JAM exam, candidates will be provided with a 'virtual scientific calculator' on their computer screen. Candidates are informed that they would not be allowed to carry any personal calculators, mobile phones, watches/wristwatches or any other electronic devices inside their examination hall. Also, JAM exam officials are not responsible for the safekeeping of the personal belongings of candidates.
  11. Candidates are advised against carrying any charts/tables/papers to their exam hall. For rough work, aspirants will be provided with scribble pads. Candidates need to write their names and registration numbers on the scribble pad before using it. When the exam ends, the scribble pad has to be returned to the invigilator.

What if There is a Discrepancy in IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card?

In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signature shown on the IIT JAM 2026 admit card, candidates should immediately approach the IIT Bombay Help Line between 10.00 am. and 5.00 pm. IIT Bombay mentions, "In such a case, the candidate would appear in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card. However, IIT Bombay will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later." Hence, candidates need not worry about the possibility of not being allowed inside the IIT JAM exam centre. However, they must follow up with IIT Bombay before the commencement of the admission process. 

What After Downloading the IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card or Hall Ticket?

After downloading the admit card of IIT JAM 2026, candidates will have to do the following:

  • Print Multiple Copies: Take at least two colour printouts of your admit card on A4-size paper.
  • Verify Details: Carefully check all the information printed on your admit card for any discrepancies.
  • Photo & Signature: Paste your photograph in the designated space. Do not sign the admit card at home.
  • Parental/Guardian Signature: Get your admit card signed by your parents or guardians.

There have some serious consequences when bringing prohibited items to take any IIT JAM exams: 


Disqualification from the Exam: You can be disqualified from the exam, meaning your test could be taken away from you, and you could leave the examination room with the exam immediately invalidated. 
Seizure of Items: Any prohibited item found on your person will be taken from you by the exam officials.

Q:   Are their any scribes arranged by the examination authority for IIT JAM 2026 examination?
A: 

Scribes will be arranged for those PwD candidates who have requested to be provided with a scribe at the time of application.
Qualification of the scribe arranged by test center will NOT be more than the minimum eligibility criteria of JAM 2026. However, the qualification of the scribe will be matriculation (10th) or above. If there are Y candidates who require scribe, it will be ensured that a panel of (Y+1) scribes is available at the exam centre so that every candidate can have an alternative scribe to choose for the services.

Q:   I am unable to download my IIT JAM admit card. What to do?
A: 

In case a candidate is not able to download his/ her admit card then the Chairman JAM of the IIT/ IISc under which the first choice of test city falls may be contacted through phone/ fax/ email. However, while contacting, the candidate should provide his/ her “online enrolment ID, name, email ID, mobile number, mailing address, and city code of the desired test centre (first choice) to get information about the registration number and the name of the test centre allotted, ” informs the official website.

While uploading files candidates must ensure that they do so in suggested resolution. In case PDF file or printout does not display a clear photograph or signature candidates need to PDF resolution again and check for clarity. If it is still not clear enough, then they have to approach exam authorities and seek solutions.
