No, IIT Madras, the examination authority will not send the JAM 2025 admit card by post and candidates had to download it online from the official website. Students who appeared for IIT JAM 2025 must have download the admit card in an online mode as soon as it will be released and not delay it till last moment.

Candidates were advised to take multiple printouts and check the details printed on the IIT JAM 2025 admit card carefully. In case a candidate lacks a proper internet connection, then he or she can visit a nearby Common Service Centre or CSC or take the help of teachers or peers to download and print the admit card of IIT JAM 2025.

You are required to carry a valid photo ID for the IIT JAM examination. Usually, the photo IDs are as follows:  
Aadhaar Card  
PAN Card  
Driving License   
Voter ID Card

College ID Card (with photograph)

There have some serious consequences when bringing prohibited items to take any IIT JAM exams: 

Disqualification from the Exam: You can be disqualified from the exam, meaning your test could be taken away from you, and you could leave the examination room with the exam immediately invalidated. 
Seizure of Items: Any prohibited item found on your person will be taken from you by the exam officials. 
Possibly Criminal Action: Depending upon the item and the terms of the examination centre, in some cases bringing a prohibited item may incur some form of charges.

IIT JAM Admit Card 2026 is an online document which acts as the hall ticket to the centre and carries candidates' personal and exam paper details. Candidates will have to log in to the exam website and download the hall ticket in PDF format. 

The following are the login credentials required to download the IIT JAM admit card 2026:

• username: Name/ Mobile Number/ Application Number
• Password: Date of Birth or password set while creating the account for registration.

Scribes will be arranged for those PwD candidates who have requested to be provided with a scribe at the time of application.
Qualification of the scribe arranged by test center will NOT be more than the minimum eligibility criteria of JAM 2026. However, the qualification of the scribe will be matriculation (10th) or above. If there are Y candidates who require scribe, it will be ensured that a panel of (Y+1) scribes is available at the exam centre so that every candidate can have an alternative scribe to choose for the services.

In case a candidate is not able to download his/ her admit card then the Chairman JAM of the IIT/ IISc under which the first choice of test city falls may be contacted through phone/ fax/ email. However, while contacting, the candidate should provide his/ her “online enrolment ID, name, email ID, mobile number, mailing address, and city code of the desired test centre (first choice) to get information about the registration number and the name of the test centre allotted, ” informs the official website.

While uploading files candidates must ensure that they do so in suggested resolution. In case PDF file or printout does not display a clear photograph or signature candidates need to PDF resolution again and check for clarity. If it is still not clear enough, then they have to approach exam authorities and seek solutions.

Apart from IIT JAM 2026 admit card, candidates must carry these documents to exam centre:

• Passport size photograph (same as the one uploaded with the application form)
• A valid photo Id proof (Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter Id)
• Facemask and hand gloves
• 50 ml bottle of hand sanitiser 
• Transparent water bottle

Exam authorities will take these actions: 

• Exam authorities will verify the reported discrepancy.
• If discrepancy is substantiated authorities will adjust or correct your application as required. 
• You will be notified via email and/or official website.

IIT JAM 2026 entrance exam does not require students to stick to a specific dress code. You can typically wear casual outfits. However by wearing a formal apparel can benefit in having a decent and presentable look (e.g., wearing a shirt and trouser).

Some institutions may have specific guidelines (e.g., wear shirts or t-shirts, jeans or trousers etc).

The policies for the IIT JAM exam often ban candidates from wearing caps or hats when sitting in the exam hall. Making sure the examination is fair and secure is the purpose of this policy. While there may be no cap or hat policy written on the IIT JAM examination instructions, the general dress code may state 'no head coverings', in order to be free of suspicion of hiding cheating devices and for any obstruction of view the examiners may not be aware of. Yes the IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card date has been postponed. Earlier the date was January 5. IIT Bombay has postponed the IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card release date. Students are advised to download their admit cards on the particular day.
