IIT JAM 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
The following points bring the Dos and Don’ts to be followed on the day of IIT JAM 2026 exam.
- Reach the exam centre 90 minutes before the scheduled time for the test commencement.
- You will be permitted to enter the exam hall 40 minutes before the test and after student registration and photo capture, you will be allowed to log in 20 minutes before the test and go through the instructions.
- You will have to take the seat assigned to your Roll Number and no other seat or centre, which will lead to the cancellation of your candidature.
- You will not be allowed to enter the test centre 30 minutes after the start of the exam.
- You will not be allowed to leave the centre before the exam ends.
- During the examination, a virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen.
- A scribble pad will be provided for rough work. Write your name and registration number before using it and return it to the invigilator at the end of the exam. Additional scribble pads may be obtained after returning the previous pad.
Banned Items at IIT JAM 2026 Exam Centre
The following items are barred from carrying to the exam centre:
- Books, copies or papers of any kind.
- Mobile phones, calculators, watches or any other electronic or digital devices.
- Bags or wallets.
The exam authorities have also mentioned that there would not be any place to keep students’ personal belongings; you should ideally not carry any personal belongings, except the permitted items, inside the exam hall.
