UPCATET 2026 Counselling Process for all UG courses is tentatively to start in June 2026. If the counselling process is offline, then students need to visit their campus as per the scheduled date and time. All the eligible students had to follow the counselling schedule mentioned in the UPCATET offline counselling schedule by visiting the official portal.

The UPCATET Online Counselling Round 1 for UG courses, besides BVSC and AH, was conducted to get admission to various undergraduate courses, such as BSc Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, and Agricultural Engineering, excluding BVSc & AH. 

The UPCATET Online counselling schedule will be published on the official UPCATET portal. As per the counselling scheduled for the Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test UPCATET 2026, the counselling for MVSc and PhD (PDV) courses for Round 1 is tentatively scheduled to start in the third week of July 2026. The UPCATET 2026 results is expecetd to be out in the last week of June 2026.

Q:   For how many days UPCATET counselling will be completed?
A: 

The counselling process of the UPCATET exam generally takes 20 to 25 days to complete. The schedule of UPCATET 2024 counselling will be released along with the release of the official notification in online mode in pdf file. 

Last year the counselling process was started on June 20th and completed by July 14th, 2023. There were two counselling for UG and PG courses while there was one counselling for PhD courses. 

Q:   Is there any offline counselling for UPCATET exam?
A: 

Normally, UPCATET offline counselling is not be done in offline mode. Applicants who want to take part in admission process must participate in online counselling done by Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology ( Ayodhya). Candidate must note that after declaration of UPCATET results the exam conducting authorities will release the dates of UPCATET counselling schedule. 

But authorities also releases the special schedule of offline counselling. Candidates who want to take part in counselling must prepare the required documents as well as security fees which needs to be deposited during counselling process.

Steps for UPCATET Counselling

The UPCATET Counselling process consists of the following steps for all the selected candidates

  • First, visit the official portal of UPCATET, i.e. https://upcatet.net/ 
  • Proceed with the online choice filling and locking. 
  • Then, the counselling official will declare the counselling result and seat allocation result for the qualified students. 
  • Upload the important documents by visiting the official website. 
  • Then, the exam official will verify all the submitted documents of the selected candidates. 
  • Submit the security fees after the document verification process is done. 
  • Once the provisional allotment is out, students need to visit the official site to download their provisional allotment letter. 
  • At last, students get admission to their preferred universities after the document verification process.

Q:   Will there be similar counselling for UG, PG and PhD courses in UPCATET?
A: 

No, there will be seperate counselling schedule is to be released for UG, PG & PhD courses by exam conducting authorities in online mode after declaration of the results. The authorities will release seperate counselling schedule for all the courses in online mode only. 

Since the counselling will be held in online mode only hence applicants need to prepare the important documents ready while appearing in the counselling. 

Q:   Is there any eligibility criteria to apply UPCATET exam?
A: 

There are different eligibility criteria decided by the exam conducting authorities whcih includes both age as well as education for UG courses. There is no age limit for PG and PhD courses.  

For BVSC & H course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidate need to be 17 and 25 by December 31While for all other course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidates need to be 16 and 22 by December 31

Note: Person with Disability (PwD) will be given a relexation of 5 years in upper age limit.

Required Documents for Counselling

Documents that students need to bring at the time of UPCATET counselling are mentioned below. It may be noted that students need to carry five sets of all the documents.

  • Downloaded copy of the online UPCATET application form duly attested by Registrar/ Principal/ Dean of the last attended college/ institution
  • Attested photocopies of Class 10 and 12 certificates and mark sheets
  • Original and attested photocopies of mark sheets and certificates of Bachelor's and Master's Degree courses
  • Domicile certificate of Uttar Pradesh state issued by the competent authority
  • Original copy of sport weightage certificate
  • Original copy of character and conduct certificate from the Head of last attended college/ institution
  • Five passport-size photographs with name and roll number written on the back
  • Original copy of OBC category certificate issued after March 31, 2023, or valid on counselling date
  • Two bank drafts of INR 500 (counselling fee) and INR 5000 (initiation fee)

Students who would not turn up when their name is called will be given another chance at the end of the day. However, such students “can claim only the programmes in which seats are available at that time and as per their qualifications/ groups,” informs the official portal.

Note: If a student fails to submit any certificate mentioned above or counselling or advance institution fee, his/ her admission will be cancelled.

Q:   Can a student from Bihar appear for UPCATET exam.
A: 

No a student who belong to Bihar can not appear in UPCATET exam. As according to UPCATET eligibility criteria:

A) Such students who are living in UP from the last 5 years and have completed the required qualification from state only. 

B) Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or place of origin is UP and he/she also belong to UP. 

C) Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or their residence is not from UP but they acquired and have been living in the state for 5 years.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of UPCATET?
A: 

The UPCATET exam is compratively easy in comparison to JEE Main, BITSAT etc. exam. Applicants who have secured atleast 60 % marks in their academic exam are more likely to qualify the exam. Since it is state owned examination and number of users are also less in comparison to other competitve exam. 

Applicants just need to complete the syllabus within time and practise more and more to qualify the exam with good marks. 

 

 

Q:   Is there negative marking in UPCATET exam?
A: 

Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in the UPCATET exam. For each correct answer applicants will be given 4 marks. For each incorrect answer, 1/4th of the total marks or 1 mark will be deducted. 

The calculation of the score for the respective programmes will be taken into consideration by taking into account all correct & incorrect answers. After preparing the list of all candidates the authorities will prepare the list of successful applicants based on the availability of seats

UPCATET Counselling: Important Instructions

Here are some important points related to the UPCATET counselling process:

  • Go to the official portal. 
  • Read full brochure which is given in the website. 
  • Complete the registration, fill in your date of birth, subjects and course. 
  • You will get an OTP on their registered mobile number. 
  • Verify OTP and create a password.  
  • Log in and fill password, program and paper group. 
  • Submit the counselling fee of INR 500. 
  • Remember that registration fee will not be refunded.

Q:   How many round of counselling will be done for PhD exam?
A: 

There will be two rounds of counselling in UPCATET exam for PhD course. The first counselling will be done in online mode while the second round of counselling will be done in offline mode. The exact dates of offline counselling does not release in the official notification only the dates of online counselling schedule is released in notification. 

The exact dates of offline counselling will be further notified in the counselling letter by the authorities.  

Q:   What to do the after declaration of results of UPCATET?
A: 

Applicants who qualify the UPCATET exam for the respective courses for which they have applied further need to appear in counselling. Applicants need to join counselling process possess the following items i.e Mobile phone, email id, date of birth, roll number and scanned copy of documents. 

The process of counselling includes registration, choice filling, seat allotment, uploading of document, document verification, dowloading of allotment letter and last admission process of the allotted universities.

 

Q:   What is the application fees to fill the UPCATET Exam form?
A: 

The UPCATET application fee is required to be paid after filling out the form. otherwise the form will not be accepted by the authorities. Every year, the updated fee structure is given in the UPCATET 2026 notification. But according to the previous year's information, male students who belong to the General & OBC categories have to pay INR 1350. Other students, both male and female, have to pay INR 1100 application fees. 

The application fees need to be paid online via Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, etc. Once the fee is paid, students are required to download the receipt of fees. 

Q:   What are the UPCATET participating universities?
A: 

There are four participating universities offering admissions on the basis of UPCATET results which are as follows:

  • Banda University of Agriculture & Technology
  • Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology
  • Chandra Shekhar Azad University
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology.

Applicants who want to participate and take admission in these universities must appear UPCATET exam and pass the exam with good marks.

UPCATET consist of a total of four groups: PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS. Every group includes 200 MCQs. The exam is 3 hours. The total UPCAET exam is assessed for 800 marks. The courses are assigned based on the group that students choose.
