Yes, Aligarh Muslim University admission to most of the courses is based on CUET scores. Admission to AMU undergraduate courses including BSc (Hons.) Community Science, BA (Hons/Research), BVoc in Production Technology, Polymer and Coating Technology and Fashion Design & Garment Technology and BSc (Hons/Research) is completely based on valid Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) scores. From the academic session 2022, all the central universities along with a few state-deemed universities and private universities started accepting CUET scores for admission to their UG and PG courses.
There is no such provision for direct admission to any of the programmes offered at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Aligarh Muslim University offers a four-year full-time BTech course at the undergraduate level. AMU offers BTech across ten specialisations including Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, CSE, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, among others. AMU conducts Aligarh Muslim University Engineering Entrance Examination (AMUEEE) for BTech admission and it is not very tough for candidates already appeared for JEE Mains. For AMU BTech admission, candidates must have valid AMUEEE 2025 scores. AMU MBA admission is based on candidates' performance in the AMU-CAT 2025 entrance test, conducted by the University. Aligarh Muslim University offers a full-time MBBS course at the postgraduate level for a duration of four and a half years along with a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship. To be eligible for AMU MBBS admission, candidates must secure 50 Percentile (for the general category). The cutoff marks for 2022 ranged between 715 and 117. AMU Admission Process 2025
Candidates can apply for admission to their desired courses on the CUET website and CUET taken in the respective subjects shall be eligible for counselling and admission. Some of the courses for which AMU accepts CUET-UG scores are BA (Hons), BVoc, BSc (Hons), etc. For some of the specialisations of the mentioned programmes, CUET may not be applicable. The procedure applicable for admission to AMU courses through CUET is as follows:

- Online application form of AMU (amucontrollerexams.com) by entering the CUET application number
- Release of merit/selection list or intimidated through any other means

The process followed during AMU CUET counselling is:
STEP 1: Registration
Candidates shortlisted or selected can register for counselling. Selected students have to visit AMU's official website (amucontrollerexams.com or counselling.amuonline.ac.in) to register for counselling. The payment for admission may also have to be paid on the same portal. The fee for the same for the respective courses is made available on the official website.
STEP 2: Provisional Admission
After counselling, provisional admission is granted to the selected candidates. Aspirants shall check out the AMU official website for updates regarding the same.
STEP 3: Document Verification & Physical Reporting
After selection, candidates have to submit a list of documents for verification purposes. Candidates must carry original documents.
The documents required at the time of physical reporting for provisional admission completion are:
- Mark sheet of last qualifying examination (with four self-attested photocopies)
- Transfer/migration and character certificate (If the Certificate is not available, an undertaking on the prescribed format is to be submitted within the due date)
- High school certificate or its equivalent in support of the date of birth
- Five (2.5 x 3.0 cms) recent front-facing colour photographs (with white background)
- Documents in support of Special Categories claimed in the application form
- Leave sanction/relieving order from the employer for the entire duration of the course, if employed.
- Name removal certificate from the rolls of the concerned faculty/college/unit (if already enrolled in another full-time course at AMU)
- Two self-addressed envelopes bearing postage stamps worth INR 22 each (to be submitted in the Office of the Provost of Hall of Residence/NRSC allotted).
- Two Undertakings on plain paper – one on your behalf and the other on behalf of your parents/guardian regarding not indulging in ragging
- Latest Certificate of vaccination for Typhoid, Cholera and Hepatitis “B” – (applicable only for BSc Nursing course)

AMU conducts its own entrance test called Aligarh Muslim University Common Admission Test (AMU-CAT) for admission to the MBA course. The Admission Test shall be held at Aligarh, Kolkata & Kozhikode. Based on the marks secured by the candidates in the AMU-CAT entrance test, a merit list for admission will be drawn. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list released by the University are then required to appear for the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD & PI) round.

AMU offers MSc as a two-year postgraduate programme offered in the full-time mode. Aligarh Muslim University offers both BE and BTech courses covering seventeen specialisations at the undergraduate level. AMU BTech admission is based purely on the candidate's performance in the AMUEEE entrance examination. Commonly asked questions On B.E. / B.Tech Admissions
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) offers BTech and BE courses in various specialisations. The university admits students to its BTech programme based on their performance in AMUEEE. Before applying for AMUEEE, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the course. To be eligible to pursue BTech at AMU, candidates must have scored at least 50% in Class 12 with relevant subjects. Hence, a candidate scoring less than 50% is not eligible to get admission at AMU for BTech. Such candidates can still pursue BTech at other colleges/universities offering offline (regular) and online BTech courses.
Aligarh Muslim University BTech admission is based on AMUEEE. This process can only be conducted in online mode. Following the entrance exam, candidates must register for the AMUEEE counselling. Candidates who secure the cut-off ranks decided by the university for various counselling rounds will be allotted seats for BTech at the university.
AMUEEE is the entrance exam conducted to shortlist prospective candidates for BTech admission at Aligarh Muslim University. The exam is conducted once every year as a pen-and-paper-based test. AMU Application Process 2025
Candidates seeking admission at AMU through CUET, need to take part in the counselling after the exam. To apply, aspirants need to visit the AMU official website (amucontrollerexams.com or counselling.amuonline.ac.in) to register for counselling. For courses where admission is through any other mode, aspirants can follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of Aligarh Muslim University.
Step 2: Click on the admissions tab available on the menubar
Step 3: On the redirected page, go to the general admission section and click on the Application form
Step 4: Fill in the application form with all the mandatory details.
Step 5: Upload all the required documents.
Step 6: Pay the application fee and click on the 'submit' button.

- Scanned copy of valid GATE/ CUET/ NEET Score Card (according to the course selected)

- Scanned copy of the No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed at present.

Commonly asked questions On Application Process
AMU CUET Counselling registration process is carried out in online mode. Only the students shortlisted or selected are eligible to register for counselling. Eligible students can visit the AMU official website (amucontrollerexams.com or counselling.amuonline.ac.in) to apply with CUET rank for the desired programme. During registration, a login ID and password is generated for further procedure. The registration fee for the same is made available on the official website.
During the AMUEEE application process, the candidates will have to pay the required fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. The AMUEEE application fee is INR 1000. No other mode of payment will be accepted by the authorities. If the candidates submit the application form after the final date, then they will have to pay an additional late fee of INR 1300. Without the fee payment, the authorities will not accept the AMUEEE application form.
The Aligarh Muslim University conducts AMU entrance exam to shortlist candidates for admission to various courses. The AMUEE application process is conducted online on the official website if the University. Aspirants need to pay AMU application fee to confirm their application submission.
