Annamalai University BE is a full-time programme offered under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FEAT). The course is offered with various specialisations. Some of these specialisations are Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and Information Technology, and others. All these courses run for a duration of four years. The university also offers lateral entry to BE courses.

The application process is the first step of the admission process. The application forms are made available on the official website of the university. Candidates pursuing a BE degree from Annamalai University can avail of government scholarships. To avail AU BE scholarships, candidates need to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria set by the university. Given below are the different types of Annamalai University scholarships:
- First Graduate Tuition Fee Concession: Under this scheme, the government of Tamil Nadu will grant tuition fee concessions to candidates who will become the first graduate in a family. From the year 2013-14 onwards, the tuition fee concession for first graduates has also been extended to the students of Annamalai University.
- Post Matric Scholarship: Under this category, the government has ordered to grant of Post Matric Scholarship to SC/SCA/ST candidates whose parental annual income is less than INR 2.50 lakh per annum and to SC/SCA converted Christians whose parental annual income is less than INR 2 lakh per annum.
- Higher Education Special Scholarship: This scholarship is only eligible for hostel students belonging to SC/SCA/ST and converted Christian categories, whose annual income from all sources should not exceed more than INR 2.50 lakh per annum.
- BC/MBC/DNC Categories Scholarship: This is valid for students belonging to BC/MBC/DNC categories whose parent’s income from all sources is not more than INR 2 lakh per annum.
