B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany - Batch of 2028
Offered by Charuchandra College

Dissatisfied with the lack of practical support and academic guidance from the college.
Placements: There is no placement system for our B.Sc. Botany course as it is a general undergraduate course and it does not offer campus placements or packages. There is no highest, lowest, or average package and also no specific recruiting companies or job roles are offered. Similarly there are no course-specific internships provided by companies.
Infrastructure: Our college doesn't provide any Wi-Fi facility. Also, the labs are not very good. Most of the basic equipment like microscopes and others is not in good working condition. There's no hostel or canteen in the college. The library is decent with almost all the needed academic books. In sports and games, our college always gets better results than others.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are really helpful but the rest of them are not. Though most of them are very much qualified, they get lazy when it comes to taking the classes regularly and properly. The semester exams are not very difficult but due to a lack of guidance, students don't get good results.
Other: I chose this B.Sc. botany course as I like plants. The best things about this course are the field visits. I wish our labs would be more organized and student-friendly with upgraded equipment.

Bachelor of Business Administration - Batch of 2028

Scope of Scottish Church College.
Placements: Throughout the course, students are expected to build their own network, internships, and skill sets rather than relying heavily on a dedicated placement cell. The college does provide at least one internship opportunity each year after the first year. That said, the college steps in more actively during the final year, offering placement drives and connecting students with recruiting companies. It's not the strongest placement support I've seen, but it's a genuine effort. Students who stay proactive throughout the course tend to make the most of it when final-year placements come around.
Infrastructure: There are computer labs throughout the building. The whole college is divided into four buildings. Actually, one of them was just created and inaugurated a few months ago at the time of writing this review. The main problem with all the buildings is that they are not internally connected to each other. There is a decent canteen and a big old library with all the departmental libraries.
Faculty: Currently, the college is affiliated with University of Calcutta. Curriculum follows CU's norms and regulations. It's set to become autonomous in the next few years, which should bring more flexibility going forward. As for the course itself, it's fairly relevant to the current industry scenario. But students shouldn't expect it to be sufficient on its own. Think of it as a foundation-building block rather than a complete package. You'll need to actively upskill and align yourself with industry and company standards alongside the coursework to really stand out and be job-ready.
Other: The scope for improvement is sometimes there. There are a few teachers who waste time, mixed with some of the excellent teachers I have ever interacted with. The main scope for improvement is the infrastructure, mostly because this is a 200-year-old college with a great history and legendary alumni.

Our college has good faculty with helpful teachers and a principal.
Placements: Our college provides various internships to students of all classes, and on average, very few are placed, like 10 percent through college placement. The average package is 3 LPA-4 LPA. The college does not have top recruiting companies, but they are average. The top roles offered by the college are accountant roles.
Infrastructure: The college does not have any hostel facilities, but there are nearby PGs available for students. The classrooms are okay, and we have enough sports equipment. The canteen is small as per the requirement of the students, and the sports and games room is very spacious, including a playing area.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and generous. They provide us with solutions to all sorts of doubts, including helping in project activities. The semester exams are average, and the pass percentage is more than 60 percent. The course curriculum is relevant as per the accountant roles.
Other: The events are not many for our college, but the extracurricular activities are enough to have sufficient knowledge, and the campus has enough students for the college.

We are satisfied with our course and college.
Placements: Need 7.5 SGPA for a research paper. There are 55 students in my class of B.A. English Honours. The highest is 7.69 SGPA in the 1st semester. We get summer internships. We get to learn from there and gain new knowledge. There are mainly teacher/professor roles in our course.
Infrastructure: Almost good. Classrooms have enough space and a good canteen with good food. The canteen also doesn't take much time to serve food, and it tastes good.
Faculty: Good. Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. They take tests after the syllabus is completed. The course is curriculum-relevant, and students are very much interested in this course. The semester examinations are good, and the pass percentage is 24%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become a college professor. The best thing about my course is that we get to know more about literature. Nothing needs to be improved. Everything is going well. We get events, fests, and extracurricular activities. The college organizes programmes and events. We get the chance to participate in the programmes, and we enjoy it.

It is good for middle-class family students. So I will give it 6 out of 10.
Placements: 28 to 30 percent of students got placed from my course. The highest package is 12 LPA. Some top recruiters are TCS. We all do internships in some other universities and colleges like Adamas University. A manager in a biochemist laboratory in Japan, which is one of the top posts.
Infrastructure: There are 2 laboratories in our faculty and 3 professors and a laboratory staff. They are very kind. No Wi-Fi is available in our faculty. We have the availability of things needed in the laboratory. We have no hostel facility in our college or in our faculty. There is a good medical system.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, and they are all Ph.D. holders from those years. They are all enough to make a student's career successful. This course is very relevant to the students, and it makes students ready for industrial circumstances. The semester exams are above average in difficulty. The passing percentage is about 70 percent.

Overall good experience for me in this college.
Placements: In our time, there was no concept of internship. We had an official WhatsApp group of our batch where teachers posted about job offers and vacancies. Job offers were like accountant, junior accountant, junior assistant, and junior auditor.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was literally top-notch. They had a playground, a library, a game room, and a canteen. Classrooms were good and spacious, though. We also had labs like the IT lab, bio lab, and chemistry lab. The office and principal's cabins were also good tho.
Faculty: The toughest semester for me was the 5th semester. But I still managed to complete my degree with honours. The teachers were also helpful. They were always ready to help and guide. The staff were very kind, what I didn't like was the cheap union.
Other: The only thing is they don't have an internship facility at this time, which I don't like. Anyways, everything was fine for me.
