B.A. (Hons.) in Sociology - Batch of 2028

Pleasantly surprised by the faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: The placements we get in the sociology department are pretty decent, most of the seniors that I know have pursued a Master's, which is how they can get a packages of up to 11 LPA. Sociology is a discipline that is underrated, and many MNCs, NGOs, and social organisations are actively recruiting people for work such as research or academia. The placement cell of Kamala Nehru College has helped many students across the college to get internships and job opportunities that they had been seeking in their own departments.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college has been improving drastically, new buildings, grounds, and areas have been under construction and are finally coming together. Our college's library is one of the best in Delhi University, with 3 floors and endless study material.
Faculty: I haven't heard any complaints about the professors of our department. Most are experts in their field who guide the students and make education a pleasant experience. Most of the curriculum has been cut in comparison to what it used to be. The exams are pretty easy to crack. The passing percentage is 100 percent.

Kamala Nehru College review.
Placements: Roles offered are clinical psychology, organizational psychology, career guidance, counsellor, sports psychology, professors, therapists, and, depending on the students, even content writers are there as well even people also go for human resources and all the other humanities courses.
Infrastructure: Labs are air-conditioned, classes are nice, improvements are made, and buildings are nice as well but need improvement. New buildings are being made, and development in sports is being made. Wi-Fi is there for a separate department, but jammers are there in the chaupal area.
Faculty: Faculty is nice. Teachers are supportive and have knowledge, and very sweet. Kamala Nehru's psychology is very popular as well, majorly because of the faculty, and therefore the cut-offs are also very high. It goes up to 870 to 900 for the reserved category.
Other: It's a nice college don't go for NIRF ranking.

4.2
3.0Placements5.0Infrastructure4.0Faculty4.0Crowd & Campus Life5.0Value for Money
My honest college review of Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Placements are decent overall, with the average package usually ranging between 6 LPA and 8 LPA, while the highest package can go up to 14 LPA-16 LPA depending on the batch and market conditions. Many reputed companies such as Brain, Nation with Namo, KPMG, etc., visit the campus for recruitment, offering roles in consulting, marketing, and business development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good and provides most of the facilities students need. The labs are well-equipped with all the tools required for practical learning, and Wi-Fi is available across the campus with decent connectivity. Classrooms are well-maintained, clean, and have projectors for teaching purposes. The library also has a good collection of books and a study area for self-study.
Faculty: The faculty members have good domain knowledge and are helpful whenever needed, but the teaching pattern varies from one professor to another. The curriculum covers the basics well and is fairly relevant to industry requirements. Semester exams are of moderate difficult if you attend classes regularly and prepare from standard books and PYQs.

Offered by Gargi College, University of Delhi
3.6
3.0Placements3.0Infrastructure5.0Faculty3.0Crowd & Campus Life4.0Value for Money
A college with good memories and exposure but with fewer great placement opportunities.
Placements: In Gargi College, the placements are average. The highest package is 10 LPA and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. Mostly companies offer between 3.5 LPA and 4.5 LPA. In my section, out of 60 students, only 15 got placed. There should be more opportunities for students with active backlogs. The placement cell should also work hard to make more students get placed from their college.
Infrastructure: In Gargi College, there is no hostel facility available. The students from other states have to take PG and pay high rents. Their rent is more than their degree fees. The quality of canteen food is average. The network doesn't work there properly. I struggled so hard to get the class notes on time in college.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also very good. The curriculum is not very relevant because it does not prepare students for actual real-world situations. It only focuses on the theoretical aspect.
Other: I chose B.Com (P), and the best thing is that the syllabus of B.Com (H) and B.Com (P) is the same. Their textbooks are the same, but the exam level of both courses is very different. In fact, the placement opportunities for both courses are the same. This year's fest was very good and above everyone's expectations. The college should focus on engaging more students in different societies so that everyone could get the same opportunities to participate.

Great crowd, great campus life, and average placements.
Placements: I think my course has pretty average placements because people generally opt for a Master's after the completion of a Bachelor's. The highest package might be the same as other decent/good DU colleges, around 10 LPA-11 LPA maybe. Generally, NGOs recruit students for internships. Around 40-50 percent of students got internships from my course.
Infrastructure: Again, I feel like the infrastructure is pretty average, its not great, but the new building is slightly better than the old one. Wi-Fi doesn't really work around the college, the old building classroom sometimes lacks enough chairs. The library is pretty great, I guess. My college doesn't have a hostel.
Faculty: Some teachers are very nice, I feel that it's more like two ends of the spectrum. We have some very great teachers and some teachers that are not that good. My course curriculum is very relevant according to me, but it's not the most employable in the job market. The exams are mildly difficult, maybe like above-average difficult, but I think 90 percent of the students pass.
Other: This course was my first preference, it was my second, but again I think it's really relevant in accordance with our society. Sociology as a course is not seen to be as reputed as other sciences or commerce courses, but I feel that's a common misconception. I think one good thing about DU is their campus life, me personally, being in a girls' college, I find the crowd to be amazing. It's really comfortable, there's no dress code, and the places around my campus are also very central to teens and adults like Hauz Khas and Safdarjung.

Good college for exposure.
Placements: Last year there were around 200 placements, mostly in the B.Com department. The highest package is above 30 LPA and the average is 10 LPA. Big 4 companies in consulting, accounting, and marketing all come. Students get front-end consulting roles and other impressive roles.
Infrastructure: I don't live in a hostel, so I don't have much idea. Seats are very low, but it is as nice as I have heard. The college is fully AC. The classrooms are big, and benches and other furniture are good. There is a gym, medical room, girls' common room, and other rooms for sports and society.
Faculty: Faculty is well experienced and are high achievers. They are really good with their subjects. Teaching quality is fairly good. The course curriculum is helpful, but it's not exactly everything needed to prepare us for the corporate world. Semester exams are 6/10, moderately difficult. It's really easy to just pass, but a good CGPA is very important.
Other: I love the vibe. Good value for money and great crowd. Events, fests, and connectivity are all great.
