The university shortlists candidates based on their merit or entrance exam scores. DIT University Dehradun also conducts DUET for shortlisting aspirants for MPharm, M.Tech and PhD courses. The university conducts other selection rounds like GDPI or PI rounds for some of the specific courses. However, for PhD who have a valid score GATE / SET / SLET will be selected based on PI. DIT University Dehradun was established in 1998 as a private university. The university is approved by UGC,  Nepal Engineering Council, and AICTE. The university can be considered as a good university as it offers a wide range of programmes at UG, PG, and other levels. These courses are provided across the Engineering, Liberal Arts, and various other streams. DITU has close associations with IBM, Infosys,  and others. The university is visited by top companies such as Palo Alto Network, Microsoft, Deloitte, Amazon, KPMG,  and others. 

DIT Dehradun University offers BTech, MTech, MBA, BSc, BDes courses at the UG and PG levels. The college also offers three years of BTech and BPharma Lateral Entry courses. Students can check some of the course-wise eligibility from the table presented below:

DIT University BTech is a four-year course divided into eight semesters at the UG level. The UG-level course is offered across different specialisations. The university admits candidates to the BTech courses based on JEE scores/merit in Class 12.Some of the specialisations in which the course is offered are Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology,  Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc. The university also offers lateral entry to BTech courses.

As per the latest report,  over 350 recruiters participated in the placement process 2023 at DIT University and presented over 1,350 job offers to the students of Class 2023. The the highest package package offered during DIT University placements in 2023 stood at INR 58 LPA. The top recruiters of DIT University Dehradun in 2023 included Palo Alto Network,   Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, KPMG, IBM, Optum, Commvault, etc.

The placements are going on for the academic year 2022-2023. Once the final placement report 2023 is out, the placement rate will be updated here. Earlier, DIT University recorded 95% placement rate in the academic year 2021-2022. The same is tabulated below:

Candidates seeking admission to the DIT University programmes must be fulfilling the eligibility requirements. The eligible students can apply by registering on the official website. Applicants are then selected based on aggregate in the last qualifying examination, i.e., Class 12. However, for BSc Nursing course admission, the selection is done as per scores in the entrance exam conducted by the university. Following selection rounds, candidates need to take part in counselling for seat allotment.

As per the latest research on external sources, we have found that DIT Deradun alumni are placed in top national and multinational companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, EY, KPMG, etc. They work in various sectors such as Engineering, Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Sales and more. Of all the sectors, 37% of alumni work in the Engineering sector. Additionally, 15% and 12% of alumni work in the IT and Business Development sectors.
