Q:   How much do I need to score in JEE Mains to get admission in DTU?
A:

The higher (better) the score, the higher are chances of admission. Students from General category must have JEE Mains rank above 10,000 to have high chances. In the last round of JAC Delhi counselling students with a rank ranging between 4810 and 24274 were able to score admission. However, the higher the rank, the less competitive specialisation was offered. This rank range mentioned is for Computer Engineering and Environmental Engineering, respectively.

Q:   Can I get DTU with 80 percentile in JEE Main via JAC Delhi?
A:
Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors: Number of aspirants registered, The difficulty level of the exam, Total number of seats available, total number of applications received for a particular program, and the category under which admission is sought. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question.

B.Tech. in Software Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.6
5Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
College is good with an excellent placement rate, a good campus view, and a hill vibe.
Placements: The placement percentage of DTU is above 85%. The highest package is 64 LPA, the average package is 20 LPA, and the lowest package is in the range of 7 to 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. The internship rate is above 90 per cent in companies like Google, Amazon, Apple, and Cisco. Top roles include software development engineer, web developer, and full-stack developer.
Infrastructure: Facilities in DTU are quite good, with a good Wi-Fi connection, proper labs, and classrooms with a capacity of around 100 students with comfortable tables. The library is also very good, with many books on different topics, a good Wi-Fi connection, and proper facilities with a lot of space for reading and studying it.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and helpful, with great knowledge in their fields. They are experts in their core subjects. The course is curriculum-related and provides a wide scope in the tech industry. It prepares students for the industry and encourages them to go beyond the limits of the industry. Semester exams are quite moderate, with a pass percentage of around 30 to 33%.
Other: I have a great interest in software development, so I chose this course. This course is solid and still allows us to compete in placements with CSE students, which is a good thing about it. I don't think anything needs to be upgraded in my course. Events and fests are quite good in this college, having fests like Yuvaan and Engifest, which are the largest fests in North India. The college has connectivity with metro stations around it; Samaypur Badli and Rithala are the closest to it. It also gives students opportunities for scholarships.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.4
4Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Placements were lower in 2024-2025 as compared to previous years.
Placements: In B.Tech, Electrical Engineering, placement offers for 2024-25 were 153 out of 285 registrations on campus. The average CTC offered was 12.89 LPA, with the highest package being 45 LPA. Top roles offered are generally technical roles like SDE, and top firms like Microsoft, Deloitte, and Atlassian, and come for recruiting. Internships are open only to students of a certain calibre.
Infrastructure: First-year hostel rooms are pretty average, but all the facilities are available, like a common room, and there is a central library on campus. The quality of food in the mess is also above average compared to other government colleges. There is a health centre for medicine on the college campus. The sports and games infrastructure is top-notch. There are some cons as well, like Wi-Fi speeds are low, and the rooms don't have proper flooring.
Faculty: Campus life is good, exposure is good, crowd is also good, sometimes mixed. Events and fests this year were not up to the mark, as there has been just one fest, the Diwali mela, and no freshers till now; these things can be improved. Sports activities are good, and the infrastructure, competitions are also held, which are highly competitive.

A short review about DTU.
Placements: For the DTU batch of 2024, many companies arrived, and the placement went well, with the highest being 86 LPA and an average package of 15.33 for the overall college. While talking about the 2024 class of EP, the highest went about 26 LPA or more, whereas the average was around 11 LPA.
Infrastructure: 1st year hostels are very poorly built, and they are from old times, like when the university was built, which tells you about their condition. It's safe to say the 1st year's ones are not decent for living. The food quality is also very poor, it's just okay.
Faculty: Teachers are great, but some professors are just too much to bear. Otherwise, most are great. About exam strictness, it has increased significantly in recent years, and the course is also now more oriented towards the subject. The recent exam is a complete mess.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029

The college has good placements and nice infrastructure.
Placements: On average, every year, 80 to 85 per cent get placed. The average package stays around 16-18 LPA, and companies like Google, Microsoft, and Adobe visit every year. About 70 percent get internships at Google, and Microsoft offers roles in machine learning, AI, and data analysis.
Infrastructure: The quality of the hostel is not good for first-year students. There are only limited seats in the hostel, and you rarely get a hostel room. The quality of food is average not very bad, not very good. The worst thing is that there are no canteens near the first-year hostel. You have to go to the centre of the college. The infrastructure of the college is good, the labs are good, but their Wi-Fi system is very bad. You have to sign in every time to connect to the Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but some teachers don't even come to classes. You have to study on your own. They complete the whole unit in a single online lecture. Semester exams are a little difficult, but if you study a little bit from the start, they are very easy for you.
Other: I am getting into CS, so I took this course. It has the highest placement percentage. Every year, DTU is known for its large number of fests, but during my first year, every fest got cancelled.

B.Tech. in Information Technology (Cyber Security) - Batch of 2029
4.6

Very good placement, great infrastructure, and also the facilities are highly qualified.
Placements: The highest package of my course is 85 LPA, and the average is 18 LPA, which is a very low number, according to me. Here, getting placements is also easy if you develop good skills in any language. Colleges provide a good course that helps you learn different languages so that you can master any one language and get a good placement.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is set up all over the college, which student can easily access for their studies. Labs are well-equipped with all requirements, and lab assistants are always there for help. Hostel facilities are also good, along with a mess which provides 4 meals a day. The health centre is there for students, which is free of cost.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and have a great knowledge of their students, and they are always ready to help students. The course is designed up to the mark according to recent industrial requirements. Semester exams are quite tough, helping a student to have a deep knowledge about that subject.

4Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Infrastructure-wise it's good and Hill College.
Placements: According to reports, this year nearly 70% students in the Software Engineering branch got placed at an average package of 18LPA. The highest package was 85LPA. Which is quite good considering the fact that nowadays there is some sort of stability in teaching jobs due to various reasons. Also, the number of companies which came for an internship was also good, comparable to NITs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the software department is top-notch. The classrooms are clean and air-conditioned. There is an elevator facility available, and the labs have proper working computers. For Wi-Fi, I would say use your own internet because DTU Wi-Fi will work in very specific regions, so it's better to use your own. But for the hostel, it is terrible for first-year boys. They don't give you Wi-Fi, and 5 people live in the same flat (2bhk), the almirahs are either too small or very old, and the hostel looks so old. Mess food is decent. From the second year, hostels are also quite good.
Faculty: Teachers are good, and most importantly, they don't detain you any reasons. Overall, the course curriculum is good, but for the first semester, there is not a single programming-related subject. Semester exams are not too easy or too difficult, they are just moderately difficult. If you study properly, then you will be able to perform well in exams. The pass percentage is also good. But they are very serious about UFM in exams.
Other: I chose this course because it covers so many topics related to teaching like programming, machine learning, and software design. My suggestion for improvement in the course would be to add at least one teaching-related subject like CO101 in the first semester. About events and fests, this year was a nightmare for freshers because they did not get the freshers' party and their 2-3 fests got cancelled, but in general, the fests of DTU are among the best in India.

DTU ranked 29 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF 2023. There are many IITs ranked before DTU under the same category. In fact, The Times Rankings 2022 ranked DTU number 1 in the Delhi NCR region for 'Engineering' category.

DTU BTech students are placed in top companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Zomato, and others. Also the BTech fee is not very high. To clear JEE Main, candidates must study according to the JEE Main syllabus and appear for as many JEE Main mock tests as possible.
