No, CAT is not the only exam based on which admission is granted. GGSIPU accepts the CAT percentile for MBA admission basis on which a merit list of selected candidates is released for the counselling round. Moreover, for the MBA in IT course, the university conducted IPU CET exam is accepted. In case the seats are left vacant after CAT candidates, then the seat allotment is carried out based on the candidate's CMAT scores.

IPU MBA Eligibility & Highlights 2025

IPU MBA programme is offered across five specialisations. For a GGSIPU MBA in IT admission, IPU conducts IPU CET, followed by a University-level counselling process. For remaining specialisations, admissions are accepted based on a candidate's CAT score. However, if the seats remain vacant after counselling based on the CAT score, then counselling is conducted based on the CMAT score. In case of seats remain vacant, IPU conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions.All the specialisations offered under the IPU MBA course along with their eligibility criteria are given below:

Eligibility Criteria (common for both courses): Graduation or equivalent in any subject with a minimum of 50% aggregate along with at least one year of post-qualification executive/ professional experience.

Great college with supportive faculty, modern infrastructure, and good placement opportunities.

Placements: Around two-thirds of students got placed. Finance and marketing roles were common. Internships were offered by HDFC, Axis Bank, and other reputed firms. Around 65-70% of students from my batch were placed. Highest package offered was around 10 LPA, lowest was about 3 LPA, and average package ranged between 4-5 LPA. Top recruiters included HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Deloitte, Infosys, and other reputed firms. Finance, Marketing, and HR roles were the most common. Around 65-70% of students from my batch were placed.

Infrastructure: College has good infrastructure with clean and secure hostels, free Wi-Fi, a library, a canteen, a comfortable environment, and classrooms. Medical facilities are also available on campus. College has very good infrastructure with well-maintained classrooms, projectors, and proper seating arrangements. Campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the library is spacious with a wide collection of books, journals, and digital resources. Computer labs and seminar halls are equipped with the latest facilities to support learning. Hostel is clean and safe, with adequate security and CCTV surveillance.

Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, supportive, helpful, and exams are easy to moderate. Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields. Most of them hold Ph.D. or postgraduate degrees and bring practical industry knowledge along with academic expertise. They are supportive, approachable, and always ready to clarify doubts inside and outside the classroom. Teaching methods include case studies, presentations, and interactive sessions, which make learning engaging.

Placements: Around 70% of students got placed with an average package of 5- 6 LPA. Highest was nearly 10-12 LPA, and the lowest was around 3 LPA. Top recruiters included Deloitte, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI, and Byju's. Many students also got internships in reputed companies.

The best college from my experience.

Placements: Placements and job interviews were moderate. They are not as good as they should be in a post-graduation programme. The average package was only 4 LPA. The college also helped us in getting internships, but not in all fields, as most of the internships were in the marketing background. I got my internship through my own sources, and the experience was average. Major companies Capital IQ, BlackRock, Accenture, Manpower, Genpact, etc. The average package was 3-4 LPA, and the highest package was 7.8 LPA.

Infrastructure: The college hostel was small but beautiful. The hostel was designed for a maximum of 100 students for the rest of the students, there was a PG outside the college, which was authorized by the college and can accommodate 100-200 students. Rooms in the PG were small, and the food provided in both the hostel and mess was strictly average.

Faculty: Faculty members lacks in teaching skills. They showed less interest in studying and more in following rules and all. Even though they were knowledgeable and experts in their own fields since most of them were Ph.D. holders, they still don't know how to teach. They supported and helped you with any work you asked. Also, faculty members strong network helped you gain great opportunities. Assignments, projects, and exams keep you occupied throughout the semester. We had 2 internal exams and 1 assignment per subject, per semester. The course curriculum was more of a theory in nature and less practical, which should not be there in Master's courses. There should be more real-life interaction, case studies, etc., to teach and guide. The exam structure was semester-wise.
