B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2029

Good college and decent placement.
Placements: 60-70 percent of students from IT branch got placed. The highest package is 20 LPA, which was offered to 2 students, and the average is 11 LPA. Placement-wise this is decent since it's a state government college. While in the CSE branch the statistics are a little low and lag behind the IT branch.
Infrastructure: Not so very good hostels, especially the boys' hostel are okayish and not too shabby, but I want to mention one incident which took place in Ambedkar hostel, where the chef was washing potatoes with his feet and had slippers on, so not so good but okayish.
Faculty: Fair exams are conducted time to time and are monitored heavily and the faculty here is good and overqualified. Our faculty members have Master's or Ph.D. degrees from IITs. The curriculum holds together well. Since it's a state government college, the faculty is good.

My hbtu 3 years journey.
Placements: In my batch there are 80 students and almost all my senior classes have the same strength. Almost 90 percent students got placed and the package in my branch is around 11 LPA and the internship opportunities are very limited for CSE and Information Technology students.
Infrastructure: The boys hostel is not too satisfying in terms of cleaning and the infrastructure is also not too good but the greenery is good in the college. The campus is too big and the boys hostel provides very limited restriction so students can do many extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Some teachers are very good, they know how to reach or communicate with students. The semester duration is only 5 months, and the marking scheme is also average in this college. You will be prepared for any kind of exam after taking admission in this college.
Other: I chose the course because I have interest in CSE and the college fest is also held in April for 7 days. This is the best time of college and the crowd of batch is near about 80 in CSE.

The underrated college with a great scope of improvement and decent placement.
Placements: The number of students getting placed is dicey as the placement season is still going on, but on average, out of 100, 75 students get placed. The highest package off-campus is 44 LPA, and the lowest is somewhat around 5 LPA, and the average is between 9 and 12 LPA. Companies come here for various roles, including marketing, SDE, and fact-related roles in the chem tech branch. And if we talk about internship, they are not that good but not that bad either, the top role for which the offer was made was SDE, to my knowledge.
Infrastructure: The classes are spacious and well-ventilated with ACs. The library is huge, with over 1 lakh books. HBTU also has multiple canteens across the campus, offering plenty of spots to explore and hang out, making the overall campus experience lively and enjoyable.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and have experience in teaching, though some teachers might not be that great, the faculty members are usually good. The curriculum is outdated, but still, amendments are being made to make the course industry-ready, and for the exams, it's usual that if you study, you'll be able to maintain a good gpa.
Other: The overall college is good. I joined this one because of its legacy of 105 years, and the placements are pretty decent too.

Our college does not provide any internship opportunity for CS and IT students as they have to apply on their own in outside the campus.

Placements are decreasing with years, but good for chemical related branches.
Placements: Our batch has strong placement rates. Around 85% of students got placed. The highest package is 43 LPA, the average is 7 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. 70% got internships at DRDO, Adobe, and startups. Roles offered are SDE, analyst, and QA.
Infrastructure: Our department has well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, Wi-Fi, and a rich library. Hostels are decent with 24/7 Wi-Fi, clean rooms, and good security. Mess food is average but hygienic. Sports grounds, gym, and basic medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Faculty are helpful, well-qualified, and teach with clarity. The curriculum is updated and industry-relevant with good practical exposure. Exams are moderately tough, but manageable. The pass percentage is around 90%, with regular internal assessment.

It is the best college under UP government.
Placements: 70-80% of students have been placed yet, while the placement drive is still going on. The highest package is 17 lac in josh technology and average package lies between 7 to 8 Lacs. Top recruiters are Samsung, Josh Technology, Adani, Tata Consultancy Services, IBM etc. Internship is rare but if you have skills you can get off campus internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very good since the college is over 100 years old. But the computer lab is well functioning with all the campus with full Wi-Fi capacity. The quality of the food is good as well. Sports facilities are also average but our college has a good cricket ground.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and comfortable to students. Attendance criteria is not so strict but theoretically it should be above 75%. Exams are relatively easy for computer science and information technology. You can easily pass by studying 1 day before exams.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to study only computer science. Course curriculum should be improved in my opinion. UP scholarship is provided to every student. College fests contain various activities like celebrity night, EDM Night, Tecnica for technical events, and other cultural events.

Complete review of college.
Placements: Placement varies from branch to branch. In chemical or mechanical engineering, almost everyone got placed with an average of 5 LPA-6 LPA. In branch like computer science and engineering or information technology has a 70%-80% placement ratio with an average of 11 LPA-12 LPA. In electronics or electrical engineering placement ratio is 40%-50%.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not so good in college. Most of the time Wi-Fi does not work if it works it gives very little internet speed. Some classrooms have AC and smart board but most of them do not have. The library of the college is decent. There are 4 canteens on campus and 1 cafeteria. Hostels infrastructure is not so good. The food quality of mess varies from hostel to hostel. Some hostel has very good food while some have very bad.
Faculty: Most professors are qualified from top IITs and most professors are easily approachable and they help students personally too. Syllabus of every branch is very similar to competitive exams like the GATE exam, PSUs exam, ISRO, and DRDO exam. Semester exams are usually easy and most of the questions come from the previous year's questions and assignments.
Other: Professors do not burden students with too many assignments and exams. So everyone gets a lot of free time to pursue their extracurriculars or for preparing competitive exams like GATE or UPSC.

It was one of the best colleges, but now the authorities are more interested in making money.
Placements: More than 80% of students were placed. The highest package was more than 30 lpa and the average was about 8 lpa. Well-known companies like Samsung and many more are the top recruiters. Internship opportunities are not very good through college. Mostly people go for off-campus internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average; as you already know, the college is more than 100 years old. All the classes do not have AC, but rest assured, things are fine. library is like manageable; there are most of the books available. There are wifi issues some times. Hostels are not good; whether it be food facilities or cleanliness, everything is questionable.
Faculty: Knowledge-wise faculty is good but they have a very weird attitude. Few professors are good but few are like, just because they want to create their aura, they will purposely cut you marks. Course syllabus level is higher than in private colleges and you have to study to pass.
Other: The IT sector is one of the leading sectors, and there is more scope for growth in this. It's comparatively easier in the IT branch to reach a good level for a certain income than compared to any other branch. Not gonna lie, college authorities and professors are very bad; for getting their sigh on a certain paper, they will tell you to roam for days from one place to another. The current DSW and VC are very bad; last year not fest was conducted. Though this university is centrally funded and even though the fees are also not less, the facilities offered are next to nothing.

According to me, this is a very good government college.
Placements: The placement at my college is average and not so satisfying, but if a student gets a very good package according to their professional background and course in the college,. Many companies will recruit many of the students from our college with normal packages in each branch.
Infrastructure: My hostel fees are very affordable, like rent and mess fees, which are very good according to every kind of student and its meals are also normal as compared to hostels at other colleges. But the infrastructure of my course is not really that good, according to my opinion. My branch has no department.
Faculty: The faculty of my college is considered guest faculty members and many permanent professors who graduated from IITs, NITs, and other government-funded colleges have exams that are really done in a restricted manner, like the proctor board, which is very strict and disciplined.
Other: I chose this course because it is in the in the software branch and we know that everyone wants to take computer science and engineering.

Yes, Being indian, you may opt for any university for your higher education although selection possibility is low when you wish to opt for other state university that have state quota. but you may appear in UPTU entrance exam and try your luck.

Yes, you'll get into HBTU with this rank. Moreover, you'll not be able to get CSE for sure as the previous cutoff for HBTU CSE is too far from your rank so its likely to deviate. Moreover, you'll get branches such as Mech, BIOTECH , CIVIL, EEE , IT/ECE (less chances). Best of luck.
