IISc Bangalore Course Admissions 2026: Entrance Exam, Eligibility, Application Process

The IISc Bangalore BTech is INR 8 lakh. The duration of the course is for four years. Moreover, those candidates who want admission need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for IISc Bangalore admissions is that candidate should have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% aggregate. IISc Bangalore admissions are open. Candidates are offered admission based on entrance exam scores. The institute accepts scores in IIT JAM, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, etc. for admission. The institute offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels.

However, 70% GATE score + 30% performance in written test (100% GATE based for Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Materials Engg.) + COAP counselling will be accepted. • Selection: Merit list of one of the national examinations, among Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) KVPY (Stream-SA)/ JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ NEET (UG) and IISER Aptitude Test 

NOTE:

• Candidate must be qualified in any one of the exams mentioned above, and the exam result must be valid as on Aug 1 of the year of admission.
• IISER Aptitude Test is introduced as a new mode of entry for the academic year 2024. Candidates have to apply directly on the IISc admission portal to apply through this mode.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has released the JEE Main cutoff for admission to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Research), a four- year full-time UG course. As per the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank stood at 903 for the students belonging to the General AI category. For other categories such as OBC, SC and ST, the JEE Main Round 1 closing ranks are 1665, 581 and 314 under the AI quota.

The entrance exam accepted includes JEE Main, JEE Advanced, IISER Entrance Exam, NEET.

In orer to get admission for BTech course at IISC it is not mandatory for a student to clear JEE Mains or advanced for getting admission into Indian institute of Science at Bangalore. The student must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12. In addition, the candidate need to qualify in one of the national tests – KVPY/ IIT-JEE (Main) or (Advance)/ NEET.

IISc Bangalore GATE cutoff 2025 has been concluded for M.Tech specialisations. The cutoff scores closed between 400 and 690, for the General AI category candidates. Therefore, for the General AI category candidates, it is possible to get admission to a few specialisations. Some of the top specialisations available at 500 score are M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, M.Tech. in Earth and Climate Sciences and M.Tech. in Smart Manufacturing.  

IISc Bangalore cutoff 2024 was concluded with the release last round of JEE Main entrance exam results. The cutoff was released for admission to B.Sc.
