A new life begins at Jadavpur University.

Placements: Hello, I have completed B.A. in Sanskrit also from the same university. Well, to be very honest there is no placement available for sanskrit students whereas there is a placement cell also in arts faculty which is not that much effective however, students from other departments like IR, CL, English get benefitted through this cell. University authority did not take any proper step to provide placements to the departments like Sanskrit.

Infrastructure: If I come to the infrastructure, would like to say overall the campus looks really nice just like another world with its beautifully structured building, guest house, hostels (especially women' hostel), M.Phil and Ph.D. scholars' hostels, a gigantic digital central library as well as easily accessible departmental library and a beautiful administrative building. Other than all these, this campus contains a large number of buildings alloted for different faculty members and departments like in arts faculty you will find U. G arts (English, CL, Economics, Bengali, Film Studies, Linguistics departments are there), P. G arts (IR, History, Sanskrit are there) and 'Subarna Jayanti building' where maximum of the under graduate classes happen of PG arts building. But the unfortunate news is that you will not be able to find any clean washroom/ toilet inside the campus only Tequip Building's toilet is a little bit clean. If you want to stay in the campus till 10 pm then it will hard to find a Ladies clean toilet. You will definitely get free Wi-Fi at Aurabinda Bhawan which is our administrative building. Classrooms are pretty good and as it is a open campus so you can smoke where ever you want. You will only get tasty food at Ashirbaad canteen which is near to the central library. Others canteens are not that good and cheep canteen is AC canteen where it is impossible to get variety of food but you can take rest or study over there till the canteen closes.

Faculty: In my department however I did not get proper help during my higher study as I was an open minded and radical person. If you are traditionally acceptable then only the department will accept you. There is a visible discrimination always going on inside this department. But some of the teachers are little helpful. They are enough quified but unfortunately not that much to make you in love with the subject. Teacher student ratio is not healthy as there are lack of teachers. No new methods or debauts are discussed there.

Other: This campus has it's own beauty. You can enjoy your morning with a beautiful nature then you can or can not attend your calsses. You will get the complete freedom here but the thing is that it is a loophole. By experiencing your new life, you can also loose your goal. So I would suggest explore your freedom but do not miss any oputunity. You will find different types of people some of them are coming from a very rich family, some others are from very poor but there are also a large number of middle class. Overall it is like an another society who has its own rules and the main thing is students make that rule there. If you are passionate about political movements, then this is the perfect place for you. I hope you remember the evergreen movement named 'Hokkolorob'. You will get photography, mountaineering, music, drama etc. Clubs inside it. Good news for the needy students that so many scholarships are available in our scholarship section and they are really helpful on the same.
