Good for exploration and college life but not so good for placements.
Placements: Since engineering started in JNU in 2018, there was something problem with placements. The first batch passed in 2023 and their record was the highest 33 LPA off-campus and 16 LPA on-campus. The average package is 12 LPA. Placement percentage is 70% and top companies are Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel is quite good and free of cost. But since engineering started in 2018 there has been no permanent building of school of engineering. But government approved making new buildings and construction of new buildings is well ongoing and expected date for opening new buildings is January 2026.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite good. All the teachers belong to well reputated college. There is no attendance policy in JNU so it is also one of the most important things. Semester exams are not quite difficult to qualify but for scoring high CGPA is difficult.
Other: I chose JNU because my rank in JEE was 34k and I wanted CSE as per my rank. This is the best college because it gives high networking from people and exploration.

Highly qualified faculty is there.
Placements: In this course, the placement rate is more than 50%, with the highest package offered at 36 LPA and the lowest at 6 LPA, while the average package stands at 8 LPA. Barkley is one of the top recruiting companies for the course, contributing to nearly 40% of students securing internships, particularly at the same company. The primary role offered to students graduating from this course is software developer, highlighting the program's focus on preparing students for in-demand positions in the tech industry.
Infrastructure: The faculties are highly qualified, and the infrastructure is excellent, equipped with proper facilities such as a library, Wi-Fi, classrooms, and labs. The mess provides healthy food with three meals a day, and the canteen is well-maintained. Additionally, medical facilities and sports amenities are also good.
Faculty: The faculty members are both helpful and knowledgeable, contributing to a high standard of teaching quality. The course curriculum is relevant and aligned with industry standards, effectively preparing students for the workforce. While semester exams can be challenging, the college maintains a respectable pass percentage, ensuring that students are equipped to succeed in their studies and future careers.
Other: The questions effectively delve into the decision-making process behind choosing the course, encouraging students to reflect on their motivations and aspirations. By asking about the best aspects of the course, these questions highlight its strengths and unique features. Furthermore, inquiring about areas for improvement encourages constructive criticism and emphasizes the college's commitment to growth. The comprehensive question covering events, festivals, campus crowds, connectivity, surroundings, scholarship opportunities, and extracurricular activities allows for a well-rounded understanding of the overall college experience. Collectively, these questions foster insightful discussions about both the academic program and campus life, making them highly relevant for assessing student satisfaction and engagement.

If one has no option, then come to this college.
Placements: It is my first year but I know seniors who got placements last year with salary package of 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 33 LPA, but it was an off-campus placement. I also know a second-year student who is doing an internship at MNIT Jaipur and has received offers for an internship from IIT Delhi.
Infrastructure: The course and hostel infrastructure available here are very bad because there is no building for classes on this campus. We have been living in a dormitory for four months and have not been assigned a hostel. New hostels and buildings for engineering students are under construction.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful but others are not. Teachers have very little experience but their qualifications are good, though not 100%. Semester exam level is normal and some teachers give questions directly from notes. Pass percentage is approximately 85.
Other: I want to share that if one really wants to do computer science, try not to come to this college. If one has no option, then one can come.

The campus is good and it provides good placements.
Placements: Our college provides average placements. The highest salary package offered off campus is 33 LPA and the highest salary package offered on campus is 16 LPA. The average salary package offered is 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Cisco, Intel, Byju's, Optum, Physics Wallah, etc., visit our campus.
Infrastructure: The mess is good. Basketball and badminton courts are available in the hostel. Our college has a stadium where you can play different sports like cricket, football, volleyball, kabaddi, etc. Air-conditioners are available in classrooms. Computer labs, PR labs, Physics labs, etc., are available. Canteens are located near hostels.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified. Class notes and lectures are sufficient for exam preparation. Apart from academics, we learn moral values and current-day scenarios that one should know.
Other: Our college organises many events, such as DJ nights, cultural events, jamming sessions, crowd work, etc. It has different clubs like Bandish (music), Baila Amor (dance), Kreeda (sports), poetry clubs, and drama clubs. Our college celebrates many events, like Diksha and Anveshna.

Not good for students who are seeking campus placement opportunities.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is about 12 LPA. There's no need to worry too much about placement, it depends on students. It's more about students rather than a college or university. Around 20% of students got hired.
Infrastructure: Whole campus is Wi-fi enabled, but the speed is quite poor. Campus has a great network overall, so we can access the internet on mobile phones. There are no fees for a hostel and dorms are provided for those students who are unable to get a hostel room from the institute.
Faculty: Faculty members are not good. New staff lacks teaching experience and are unable to teach us without using PPT or handbook notes. Faculty members need to understand that skilled and qualified teachers are required for teaching.
Other: If one wants to enjoy college life, this is the best college. There is no need to worry about anything, as there is a freedom for both boys and girls.

Q:   How is JNU for the B.Tech. Course?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:

JNU is a good option for applying for admission to BTech courses if you did not get admitted to the IITs, NITs, or other top engineering colleges. 1. The majority of BTech programmes cost less than INR 3 Lakh. 2. The Engineering Department at JNU consists of graduates of prestigious universities such as the IITs, NITs, and IISc. 3. Its curriculum is on par with that of top engineering schools in terms of quality. 4. The curriculum is varied and comparable to that taught at the best NITs and IITs. 5. It has excellent infrastructure, including well-equipped computer labs. 6. JNU BTech graduates typically receive a salary package of around INR 6 LPA. Some issues are also there, such as: 1. The Humanities programs at JNU are better known. 2. There aren't many cultural events at Engineering schools.

The admissions in Dual degree courses B.Tech+M.tech at JNU are based on ranks obtained in JEE-Main. Hence the eligibility criteria is similar to NITs, IITs and GFTIs. 10+2 with minimum 75% of marks(For General category) or should in top 20 percentile of respective educational boards.

No, I am sorry to say but JNU does no take admission simply based on your 12th marks. It is not in their rules. So you need to appear for JNUEE and mind, it is not at all that tough. Prepare well and you will crack it.
