NIT Durgapur has a really good infrastructure when compared to others, and a decent one.
Placements: So, the placement scene in our college is not extremely good, but it is decent enough, with around 80% of students getting placed every year. The lowest is around 5 LPA always, and the highest varies from time to time, but it is generally near 20-25 LPA. Avg package varies from 8 to 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel Wi-Fi is decent enough, and so is the hostel. You have to clean and wash your clothes all by yourself, because they charge a lot of money, like literally a lot of money, if you want to give clothes for cleaning. Medical facilities are good, and so are the sports and games. Mess food is too average and not many options are available, actually.
Faculty: Faculty of our college is really good, they are helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is decent, like sometimes you can think Oh, what are they doing. Curriculum is good too. Mid-semester is generally easy. End of semester is a little hard. But pass percentage is kind of good.
Other: Crowd is good, but not the campus life. I chose this course because I wanted Chemical Engineering and got it in JoSAA. About campus life, there are too many restrictions in first year.

Satisfied with the faculty and worth to join.
Placements: As I am studying in 1st year, I haven't talked with our super seniors completely, but a little bit. But I asked once, and they told me that placements in our college in the last year were terrible compared to other years. The highest is 32 LPA, the lowest is 7 LPA, and the average is 10 LPA. Top recruiters of our college are TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Axiom OI. I have no idea about internships. Software engineer, full-stack developer, data scientist, and AI engineer are roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: We have no Wi-Fi, in addition, we have jammers to block the network. The labs are well-designed and maintained properly. The classrooms are really good with projectors included, a clean board, and nice air flow through windows, it is very comfortable. The library is also good with books. They got more books than any college after Githam.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful to us, and they have nice qualifications and are very friendly when teaching us, and they also help us in the lab practical very well. Our course curriculum is fully relevant, and it does help in making students industry-ready. Semester exams are really tough, but you could pass if you study well. I don't know about the pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course out of pure passion for being a chip designer, and the best thing about our course is the course itself. If the faculty of 1st year goes easy on us in labs, then it would be a great help for us to improve. Events are indeed well maintained. Love the annual day.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2026

Not very satisfactory college.
Placements: I am currently a 3rd-year student pursuing B. Teach in Chemical Engineering. Companies allowing Chemical students are L&T, Reliance, HPCL, BPCL, PwC, etc. Till date (18/1/25), 53% of students from Chemical have been placed. For internships, the opportunities are fewer.
Infrastructure: In the department, Wi-Fi is available but not accessible for students. If you are a Jio user, then inside the department, you will face network issues. Labs and classes aren't very amazing. Wi-Fi is provided in the hostel. The mess food isn't good at all. Game facilities are available in the hostel.
Faculty: Not all the teachers are that welcoming and helpful. They may be knowledgeable but don't always profess the knowledge properly. The curriculum is okayish. Still, it should be improved. The exams are not very difficult. If you study properly, you can score good.
Other: Fests and events are organized in the campus by the various clubs of the college.

The tale of a student - Good infrastructure, average faculties, good placements, good campus life.
Placements: In my college, the percentage scenarios are quite good. If we talk in percentages, there is an 82% placement rate for this year's batch of 2025. The highest package is 58 LPA. The median package varies branch by branch, but overall, it is 12 LPA. On our campus, Microsoft, Apple, etc., companies visit. The internship scenarios are not that good, but if you have skills, you can secure some chances on this.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good, I can say. Hostels, academic buildings, and labs are all fully air-conditioned and maintained, except for some of the labs, like the thermodynamics lab. Other core branch labs may not be that well-maintained, but the academic building is. Some classes in the main building don't have proper facilities. CS and hostels from the 3rd year are not so well maintained, but in the 1st and 2nd year, those are the best.
Faculty: If we talk about curriculum, as I am from MME, courses are upgraded every year. They introduce a new syllabus and subjects every year. About faculty: in the first year, approximately all faculty members are good, but in higher years, some of the professors are really dangerous. They are horrible, some of them, like 1 or 2, the rest are good.

The clear and complete review about 0 to 100 through this review.
Placements: 90% of students are placed in my course. 80 LPA is the highest package, 8 LPA is the lowest package, and 12 LPA is average package offered. Recruiting companies are Microsoft, Wipro, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. 75% of students got internships from companies like Microsoft, Amazon, etc. Roles offered are manager, HR, and programmer.
Infrastructure: Library contains maximum all type of books including course and exam syllabus related. Computer labs are newly constructed so they are in good condition. Wi-Fi is a non-wireless connection, and the speed is very good. Canteens are available around the college and inside the college too. The food is good but doesn't contain any spice or salt.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified with experience of more than 20 years. They are very helpful with our studies. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready because all the lab work is very realistic and very helpful. The exams are at moderate level. 95% is the pass percentage.
Other: I love computer science and engineering. The coding atmosphere is pretty good at my college so I chose it. I wish the exam pattern could be better. My course strength is 201. Two major fests will take place.

It is not a good college, I won't recommend it.
Placements: The placement coordinator is not working properly at all. He sends the data very late and does not contact many companies. When companies like Intel and Cadence came to drive, the coordinator didn't give a good response and told another drive is going on, so I don't want now. If you give this type of response to the company, they definitely won't give you a chance, so the placement coordinator should work good, not relying on the institute's fame. Every NIT is good if the management works properly.
Infrastructure: The food is not good. Only Bengali-style food is served, and the breakfast is not good. No food is provided during holidays, and there is no good service provided by them. They don't provide food for us during Dusshera vacation, and they charge Rs. 140 per day for food, but they do not provide food during holidays. That's not a good performance, and most of the food contains potatoes. I agree that this is Bengali culture, but they should provide more protein. I would not recommend.
Faculty: The faculty is good, but the content they provide is not good enough to secure good position in technology. Most of the time, we have to prepare for most of the subjects on our own. Some faculty don't even provide good PDFs at the time, they provide them at the end of the semester, and we can't score good marks on the midterm exams.
Other: I like instrumentation, so I chose this, and I got this seat according to my rank. I think they should improve the lab equipment and provide related things.
