NITT, Tiruchirappalli is the pride of India.

Placements: The placement record of our college was excellent. Around 200 MNCs visited our campus for the recruitment drive. Almost every student got placed. NITT has an excellent record of placements for the M.Tech course, and it is far better than most of the IITs. Even MS and PhD scholars got excellent salary packages.

Infrastructure: NITT has an excellent infrastructure, and the campus is spread over 800 acres. It has many basic, advanced and modern facilities like gym, stadium, Cafe Coffee Day and lots of events. The college was awesome with lots of opportunities to excel in every field.

Faculty: Faculty members of our college were excellent and dedicated to research and development. Faculty members were helpful and cooperative. They take a lot of care about students, and they treat every individual equally and help them. Moreover, faculty members definitely follow the discipline and are highly qualified.

Other: Events like Pragyan and Festember were celebrated. It was worth participating in those events.

The exposure is exceptional. The kind of aura which the students create is outstanding.

Placements: The scenario was down for the year 2016-2017 when placements are considered. Still enough opportunities are provided, and everyone gets placed. The curriculum and independence given to fee departments need to be reviewed. Few courses are obsolete, and faculty is either lacking knowledge or less in numbers.

Infrastructure: It has a little bit scope for improvement. Though the college is investing and is apparently transparent is developing infrastructure but still practically speaking many dedicated faculty members needs to be recruited in the college. The administration can be more qualified.

Faculty: The faculty in some departments are for namesake. They are just eating government funds, are corrupted and are just filling vacant spaces. Research faculty members and facilities are age-old, and ninety percent of research scholars are qualified but not satisfied.

I am satisfied with the course, placements, infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Around 85% of seniors get placed in our course. We will have our placements in the next semester. The highest salary package offered varies from 15 LPA - 16 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 6 LPA - 7 LPA. Companies like GE, Honeywell, Saint Gobain, and Mercedes Benz hire students from campus. Role offered is as a process engineer. In our course, the highest salary package offered was 13 LPA by GE, and the average salary package offered ranges from 6 LPA - 7 LPA. Around 50-60% of the students got internships. .Tech has 12400 monthly stipend.

Infrastructure: M.Tech PCI is an interdisciplinary course of chemical and instrumentation and control engineering. We have classes in both departments, and every lab that is required for the course with proper functioning equipment is available for both the departments. But Wi-Fi is not available in both departments. The facilities of the hostel differ from hostel to hostel. The common facilities include Wi-Fi, geyser, a couple of common rooms with TV in one and others for group studies or gathering, TT table, and compressors for inflating cycle tyres. Few lucky hostels have a washing machine available and a small open area enough to play cricket. A few even have a volleyball net. The quality of the food served is great in almost every mess. NITT has a strict feedback system and takes strict actions against messes which do not maintain standards. On-campus, the hospital is present with an ambulance service. There are 4-5 major grounds around the campus and tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. An indoor sports centre is also present.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are extremely qualified and knowledgeable on the subject. The teaching quality is good, but there can be a lot of regularity issues in taking the classes as everyone is occupied in other research or duties around the campus. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready.

Other: I chose this course because it is interdisciplinary, and you can extend your area of knowledge and expertise. Making you have basic knowledge in chemical, instrumentation and electrical engineering. There is nothing to improve on campus. We have 3 fests in a year, and a lot of other events are held all around the year. The campus crowd is fine. The college is 20kms from the city and has an ample number of buses from the central bus stand. It is in outskirts so you cannot expect any surroundings outside the campus.
