NIT Trichy BTech is a four-year course offered only in full-time mode. This course is taught across nine specialisations through the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Production Engineering, etc. NIT Trichy BTech courses admission is based on the JEE Main entrance exam, followed by JoSAA Counselling. National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1964 as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The NIT Trichy counselling 2022 process has been concluded after the release of Round 3 on the official website of DASA. For the upcoming admission session 2025, candidates are required to fill an online application form on the online admission ptal of DASA. To apply for the DASA UG counselling process, candidates can follow the step mentioned below:
- The candidates eligible for DASA counselling have to register to be able to participate in the admission process. The DASA counselling registration process is given below:
- To register, the candidate needs to enter the JEE Main 2025 application number and Date of Birth. A web link will be mailed to complete the registration process on the email ID registered with JEE Main. The application number of JEE Mains will be your username.
- In the registration form, candidates have to fill in the required details. Applicants are required to upload the following:
- the latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size < 100kB).
- Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format (file size<100 kB).
- Submit the completed DASA application form. The submitted online registration form should be downloaded and saved for their records. However, there is no need to send the hard copy of the form and documents to the DASA office.

At the undergraduate level, the NIT Trichy offers four-year BTech and five-year B.Arch courses to students. At the postgraduate level, the NIT Trichy provides two-year MTech, NIT Trichy MBA , MCA, and various other courses to students. The university also provides 17 PhD courses to students.
NIT Trichy students can apply for the internships help in May-July. These internships are usually for 4 weeks (minimum), 8 weeks (maximum). These are the summer internships. Last date to apply for these internships is usually in March.
NIT Trichy students should make sure they meet the eligibility criteria set by the institute before applying for the desired course. As the institute offers several courses at UG, PG and PhD level, students need to register on the specific website of each entrance exam. Students will have to register themselves, fill out the application form and pay the application fee of the entrance exams such as GATE, JEE Main and CAT. NIT Trichy is good in terms of placements. PG placement rate recorded in 2025 was 85.1%. In 2024 and 2023, the placement percentage was 89.4% and 95.3%.
