PUMDET Result 2025: Date: Ranking Method, Rank Cards and Tie Break

University does not release a score/ rank list, but it does release individual rank cards for examinees. The steps to check the same are mentioned below. 

• Visit the official website - https://wbjeeb.in/pumdet/ 
• Click on 'Rank Card for PUMDET 2025' under 'Important Links'.
• You will be redirected to a new page. Enter your application number, date of birth and a case-sensitive security pin (captcha).
• Candidate will then have to click on the sign-in button.
• PUMDET rank cards will appear on the screen. It will contain relevant ranks and total scores.
• You must download the rank card to produce it during the counselling process. 

WBJEEB will prepare the merit ranks based on the candidates' scores in the PUMDET 2025.

• The rank shall be in the name and style of ‘GMR’ (General Merit Rank).
• The ranking will be done in descending order of marks scored in the PUMDET exam.
• Separate reserved category merit positions will also be indicated for the respective category of students: SC rank, ST rank, OBC-A rank, OBC-B rank, or PWD rank as applicable.
• Counselling/ allotment of seats/ admission will be done based on GMR.

If two or more students get same score or rank in entrance exam, then university uses a tie-break rule to decide the final rank. Process goes like this:

• Candidate who has less negative marks will get a higher rank.
• If tie still doesn’t break even after that, then all those students are given same rank, and they are all allowed for counselling and admission together because of bunching effect.

PUMDET counselling takes place once the results are declared. On the basis of the counselling process, examinees are allotted seats to their preferred programmes in Presidency University. During the counselling, document verification takes place where candidates also have to produce their rank cards. PUMDET counselling takes place in several rounds and the seat allotment lists for each round are published separately on the exam's official website.
