SRM Institute of Science and Technology admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance tests. The admission for the flagship programs are held on the basis of SRMJEEE UG exam. Further, SRM MBA admissions are conducted on the basis of SRMJEEM test. The SRMJEEE PG test is conducted for the various SRMIST PG courses. The university also accepts scoring from nationally-held tests like CAT, TANCET, MAT, etc. for admissions.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology or SRM IST (formerly known as SRM University Chennai) was established in 1985 and is located in Kattankulathur, Chennai. It is considered to be a good college as it is ranked 1001-1200 by the QS World University Rankings 2025 under the 'World University' category. Further,  SRM University Chennai Rankings include 4th rank by Outlook 2023 under the Engineering category,  4th rank by Times 2023 for BBA, and 11th rank by NIRF 2024 under the Architecture category.

Yes, candidates can get admission to BTech without JEE Main score. Admission to BTech course is only based on SRMJEEE score. Candidates are required to pass Class 12 with minimum 60% aggregate as per the minimum eligibility criteria. Further, aspirants must qualify for SRM JEE exam with a valid score. The SRM average package CSE offered during the 2025 placement drive is yet to be published on the official website. Once the SRM average package CSE is released, it will be updated on this page.
