VIT Chennai admission to PhD course is based on entrance-exam. The institute conducts VITREE for admission to PhD course. VITREE is a computer-based test of two hours conducted at the test venue opted by the candidate. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round.
Vellore Institute of Technology Chennai offers admission based on entrance exam score or merit of the aspirants in the qualifying exam. VIT Chennai BSc application fees for the academic year 2025 is INR 600. The application fees deposited by candidates is inclusive of GST and is non-refundable. The application fees can only be paid through the online mode using Net banking/ Debit card/ Credit card.
Candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme at VIT Chennai must take the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) as VIT Chennai accepts admission for the BTech courses only through VITEEE. VIT Chennai BSc course admission across all the specialisations is entirely merit-based. The admissions are based on marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent). Shortlisted candidates are further required to appear for the Personal Interview conducted by the institute as the part of the admission process.
Candidates need to have a valid entrace exam score for admission to VIT Chennai BTech programme. VIT conducts VITEEE for admission to BTech course. VITEEE is a 2.5 hour multiple-choice test. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai accepts admission in the MBA course through various national-level entrance exams such as CAT/XAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT/ATMA/NMAT. Candidates interested in taking admission in MBA VIT, Chennai must take any one of the entrance exam mentioned above.
Also, the candidate should have passed the UG degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate. If the applicant’s rank is above the closing rank which is specified in the merit list released by VIT will next have to clear the Personal Interview (PI) round, followed by document verification and fee payment.
