Good companies do come, but not as many vacancies are there in the market as the number of students, So, even good students don't get core placements.

The college is really good, and I really like it, but the population is too high.
Placements: Around 50% of students are placed, with the highest package around 25 LPA and the lowest at 3.5 LPA for Mechanical Engineering. Top recruiters are Amazon and Google, very few people got internships in companies like Boeing, Caterpillar, Tata, etc. Top roles offered are mechanical engineering trainee, area manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs are really good, world-class labs. Classrooms are very good but had no AC. It had a 3-floor library with almost all kinds of books. Hostel was good, with different kinds of mess, sports room, badminton court, gym, common area, etc., with AC rooms. Medical facilities were also good, as it is combined with Apollo.
Faculty: Teachers are very highly qualified, and the teaching quality is good. Course relevance is medium, it is not completely bad nor completely good. Semester exams are moderate, and the pass percentage is above 60%. The first internal is normal, while the second internal is an open book exam. Overall, it is a good college.
Other: Fest, campus, and extracurricular activities, everything is brilliant.

This is my insight about the college. I would definitely recommend people joining here.
Placements: Placements here are quite good. All placements take place in the Vellore campus. They ensure all the students get placed, even if you are doing mechanical you get an assured job in some software companies. Their average package for this year is around 11 LPA - 12 LPA. The highest package is 88 LPA. 867 companies visited and offered 8,000 job roles. For mechanical department top recruiters are Mercedes and Mahindra. 75-95% of eligible students got placed. They also keep in touch with the leading MNCs and provide students with projects. Top roles offered by them are design engineer, automation, manufacturing process planner, etc.
Infrastructure: We have the best campus. It's 192 acres of land. We have gym, swimming pool, canteens, bank, supermarket, etc. Library here is the best. We have a wide range of books from academics to comics to magazines. During exam times, the library is open until 12:00 AM or even 2:00 AM. All the canteens are well maintained except few. You can see monkeys using the same cup as they give you for drinking water or anything for that matter. Talking about extracurricular, we have 2 grounds, cricket pitch, basketball ground, and tennis court. The sports room is well-equipped.
Faculty: We get to choose our own faculty members and slots. On the website, we get the academic backgrounds of all faculty members, almost all of them are highly qualified teachers. They are easily approachable. There are few professors who have excellent knowledge and experience. They also have connections with other people, and they provide us with internship opportunities. Course curriculum is one of the reasons why I chose this college. They provide specialisation courses along with the core. For example, I have chosen mechanical with AI and ML. The curriculum equips students with skills and knowledge for industry readiness. The pass percentage is 97%.
Other: I wanted to do aerospace engineering so I chose mechanical to make my basics strong. It covers all basics and also the future scope is high. I can get into any mechanical-related field with this degree.

Read this before getting into VIT.
Placements: Placements are one of the main reasons that people opt for VIT college. The highest salary package offered is 1.02 CPA. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. They promise students good placements with good packages. Some of the top recruiters of the college include Microsoft, Zoho, Google, TCS, Infosys, etc. Volvo and Tata are top core recruiters for mechanical engineering. Almost 90% of students got placements last year.
Infrastructure: The academic blocks are great. Our classrooms are average with just a table and a projector. There is nothing else to make it more interactive. Our labs are great with all those facilities and supercomputers. It becomes easier to work there and interesting to learn in labs. The library functions till 12 AM. It has 7 floors and is filled with books. All necessary books can be found there. I am disappointed with the hostel. For the fee we pay, they give us a bed, a table, and a cupboard. The fee is around Rs. 1,24,000 for 6 sharing air conditioning rooms. The cot is not separate. It is a bunk bed.
Faculty: Our faculty members are doctorates and Ph.D. holders. They are toppers of their batches and passed out from renowned colleges across the world. They are helpful and guide students in all situations where they need assistance. The course curriculum is very relevant because it offers 1,000 courses among which we are allowed to choose the course that we'd like to pursue. The curriculum allows us to explore new fields and improve our skills. Semester exams are set in a moderate way and sometimes hard also. It doesn't matter because if it's hard for everyone, the relative grading part will save you.
Other: The course is value for the money considering placements, classrooms, and lab facilities we are provided with. The campus is overcrowded. You can feel it when you wait hours for lifts in the academic blocks. Every hostel block has a 17-floor building and getting in the lift is the hectic part of it. Also when you visit restaurants on campus during noon, it's overcrowded.

Absolutely amazed by infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 60% of students are placed in this year’s placement drive with the highest package of about 75 L, the lowest of around 3 Lacs, and an average being 9-10 Lacs. The top recruiting companies of this year were TCS, Krypto, Microsoft, and AppDynamics. The internship rates are very high here with an approximate of 70-80% in companies like VITSOL. The roles offered in my courses are Design Engineers, Automobile Engineers, Aerospace Engineers, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are good, with good classrooms and various labs such as CAD Lab, IC Engines lab, Programming lab, physiometric lab, Robotics Lab, Calculus Lab, and so on. The college has an amazing three-floor library with a centralized AC system and easy book borrowing and submitting systems. In the hostel also, there are various facilities such as 24/7 water supply and drinking water. Even if you want hot or cold water, the water coolers are placed at every floor for this. The only drawback is the time of hostel is 9 P. M. and they don't allow any kettles or induction in there. The food provided by the mess is amazing here, especially CRCL and Fusion. They have good hygiene and maintain cleanliness in the dining area.
Faculty: The faculty here is good, but there are some exceptions also. The teachers here are highly qualified in their field, and their teaching style is great too. The course curriculum here makes a student ready for an industry, and these curricula are relevant too. If you want to opt for some electives about your interest, you can take that too. They also have a fully flexible credit system which allows you to create your own timetable according to you. Here, there are three exams taken per semester: Continue Assessment Test 1, Continue Assessment Test 2, and Final Assessment Test, which are at a good level, not so easy, not so hard.

WHY VIT CHENNAI WHILE COMPARING FOR PLACEMENTS?!?!
Placements: For our senior batch that is the 2025 batch , most of them got placements till now and most of the core companies came by now. Though there's a population of companies who prefer to take girls over boys, but still if you have a good cv other than academics, it will do the work.
Infrastructure: Not all the classes have AC as they are in old buildings, but the new classes have ac which are being built since the 2022 batch came into the college, and there's a regular expansion process going on for the students’ facilities... the Wi-Fi speed is not that great, and they only provide Wi-Fi from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Faculty: The teachers here are really helpful, though most of them are Tamil teachers. They are good and humble to help you out. Just make sure not to mess things with them. The course is relevant, and the curriculum is updated every semester. And even mechanical people are taught about AI and stuff, but at a basic level.
Other: Techfests are really great... and cultural fests are of 4 to 5 days and are more fun than techfests.
