It is a place to learn and grow.
Placements: More than 150 students are placed in my course. The highest salary package is 1.02 LPA and the average package is 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Siemens, TCS, Infosys, L&T, Tata Power, etc. Around 60% of students got internships. Top roles offered are electrical engineer, electronics engineer, and power systems engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and maintenance are very good for this university. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel. Classrooms are decent. The library has a huge content of books which are relevant to our courses. Facilities provided in the hostel are good. Food quality is average. Medical facilities are provided 24x7. Sports and game instruments are available for students.
Faculty: Teaching quality is fine. Teachers are helpful and some are very friendly too. The course curriculum is made for students such that they become industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult which is good for students. The pass percentage is above 80% which is because of the hard work of both students and faculty members.

VIT Chennai. We are on top.
Placements: Placements in my college are good providing 93% to 95% of students got placed each year and in my department, last time around 90% of students were placed. Internships are also very good, students from 2nd year are cracking in government firms so the internship opportunities are also very good providing students with options for a better future.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of hostel is very good. They have lots of options for accommodation including several beds in a room air-conditioned or non-air-conditioned room. So overall experience with the accommodation is very good. Wi-Fi is also very strong. They provide Wi-Fi till midnight. Classrooms and libraries are also of good quality because of which we are very much positive in our academics.
Faculty: Teachers of my college are very good. They provide a lot of systems to students in our academy with doubt-clearing sessions which also help students to interact with them whenever they need. They are also very helpful. Course curriculum is also relevant providing students with updated and futuristic knowledge of our branch.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in the electrical department. To improve our course they can add on new subjects which are related to future concepts. Crowd of my college is very good providing students an opportunity to mingle with students throughout the country which helps students in connection-building.

Good social community but highly crowded nature.
Placements: Almost 100% of the students who opted for sitting in the placements got placed in a company. The highest package of 1 Cr per annum was offered to a CSE student and 3 LPA is the lowest package, while the average package offered is around 8 LPA. The top recruiters for electrical students are TCS, INFOSYS, and Honeywell. 60 percent of the students do their internship, which is unpaid and offered by VIT. 35 percent do internships privately, and only 5 percent receive internships with a stipend from the companies. The roles differ by the vacancies in companies.
Infrastructure: All the labs are equipped with high-speed internet facilities, and there are a lot of lab components for important core subjects. Classrooms consist of 4 boards, two blackboards, and two for marker usage. There is one projector per classroom with dual speakers installed around the corners. Facilities inside the hostel include two cupboards, one bunker bed space, and a chair. The quality of food goes up with the pay scale, and for the lowest mess option available, the quality is decent. Apollo Hospital has a space on the campus providing basic treatment.
Faculty: 90 percent of the teachers are knowledgeable, but the remaining 10 percent are not up to the mark. The course curriculum is highly relevant. The lab components for the core subjects really do make the students industry-ready. The semester exam questions are medium, but the correction is highly strict, which makes the pass percentage around 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because of the lab components provided here to learn a subject practically. If the courses offered had faculty members of the same major, it would be much better. There are two events: one is a technical one that comes up during the month of August and the other is an annual fest that comes up in March. The campus is really crowded as it has attracted a lot of people. Scholarships are given as waivers to the VITEEE toppers by the institute. Extracurricular activities include badminton and basketball as the main sports.

VIT - A place to learn and grow.
Placements: Nearly 90% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is around 24 LPA. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google and Amazon. They provide entry-level jobs. As a fresher, I don't know how many percentage of students got internships. Other than that, placements are pretty good.
Infrastructure: Our college provides all the necessary facilities. Every class has a projector, speakers, mic, and Wi-Fi access for all students in both the college as well as the hostel. Our college library is a great place if students are seeking a silent environment to study. It has a large amount of books from journals to fictional books. Our college also has every kind of lab needed, and it contains a variety of standard tools and machines to practice with. The infrastructure of the hostel is great but the quality of the food available is not up to the standards. Medical facilities are decent and there is a large number of sports and games to play in our college like basketball, football, table tennis, etc.
Faculty: All teachers present here are well-knowledgeable. They teach students in a way where one would get an interest in the topic. The course curriculum is relevant and provides a fair amount of knowledge and practice to make students industry-ready. Semester exams are pretty hard to score high marks but it is pretty enough to clear the course. The pass percentage is around 95% for our course.
Other: I chose this course because it has value in the future as the semiconductor industry is developing rapidly. As a fresher, I can't say anything about improvements until I get experience around here. Also, our college holds many kinds of events and fests like Vibrance, Technovit, and many more. Campus life here is great. There are many spots to hang out here. Our college provides scholarships that are approved by the government.

It is best to join college.
Placements: B.Tech. , MBA, and M.Tech. students are getting placed here. The highest package is more than 50 lakhs, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. The average is 7 LPA. TCS, Amazon, Deloitte, Infosys, etc., are many companies visiting campuses. 90% of the students are getting placed. Software roles are most offered.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available on campus are very good, like free Wi-Fi, lab facilities, big classrooms, and library access. The quality of the facilities in your hostel is very good. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, sports, and games are all there.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is very relevant. Students may not be ready for the industry. Semester exams are difficult to score good marks in the college. The pass percentage is around 40.

Short and to the Point Review of Vit Chennai
Placements: Approx 85% students get placed with very good packages. Highest package: 54lakhs per annum. Lowest package: 7-8 lakhs per annum. Average package: 4-5 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, TCS, Robert Bosch, Texas Instruments, Schneider Electric, Nokia, etc. Vit is very active in providing internships, it is mandatory for the students to complete at least 2 months of internship, they send their resume to the companies and apply for the internship. Almost 90% of the students in EEE get internships. Recently, Whirlpool, TATA, ford, L & T, Cognizant has provided internships to EEE students. Top roles that are being offered in this course are programming internships, mechatronics, industrial safety, PLC internships, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really very good, the labs are air conditioned and are well equipped with all the required instruments. There are several auditoriums for all the events going on. There are many lifts in the buildings however because of such big crowd, we have to wait for at least 10-15 minutes for the lift. The classrooms are not airconditioned, it becomes difficult to study in the classrooms some times. The campus is full with greenery all around and clouds here at vit never fail to amaze us with its beauty. The hostel is good. 3 bedded rooms are a bit less spacious however Four beds have enough space. Ac rooms have bunker beds. The mess food is good, they provide a variety of snacks in the evening but they repeat the menu a lot in lunch and dinner. They also provide beverages such as lemonade, buttermilk, hot chocolate, etc and fruits in dinner. There are many cafeterias in the campus and a night canteen open from 9 to 12:30am in night. There is a health center for immediate check up and they take you to a hospital if needed. You can play your favorite sports, there are basket ball court, tennis court, volley ball court, cricket play ground and more. Hostel in time for girls is 8 PM and for boys is 9 PM
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, however being a north Indian, I sometimes feel less connected to their teaching styles and way of communication. Although, the course curriculum is upto the mark and it makes the students industry ready. With so many assignments and exams, we are made well equipped to cope any difficulty in less time with more efficiency. Each semester has 3 exams. Cat 1 which is a moderate level exam. Cat 2 which is an open notes exam and hence quite tough. FAT which is a final assessment of moderate level. Around 40% marks are required to get passed.
Other: I wish that the mess menu could have more varieties of north Indian cuisine. The campus life is very vibrant, if you know how to manage your time among all the assignments, there are two fests in a year, a tech fest (technovit) and a cultural fest (vibrance) in fmwhuch they call celebrities to perform among us. You will find many couples sitting together in the evening. The campus is quite big. You will have a great life here once you know how to manage your time.

We get good placements in core companies.
Placements: For the 2024 batch, the placements percentage was nearly 100%, except for the students who opted for the masters degree. The highest package offered in our course is 1 crore, and the average package is 10 LPA. Top recruiters are Google, Microsoft, etc.
Infrastructure: VIT Chennai's infrastructure features modern classrooms, labs, libraries, and sports facilities. Hostel facilities have separate hostels for boys and girls, fully furnished rooms with AC and Wi-Fi, 24X7 security and medical care, along with mess facilities providing vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. There is a recreational space for indoor and outdoor activities.
Faculty: The curriculum is based on industrial needs. Faculty members are experienced professors who are industry experts. Semester 1-2 have subjects like Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For semester 3-4, we have circuits, electronics, microprocessors, and control systems. For semester 5-6, subjects like power systems, electromagnetic, and signal processing are taught. Semester 7-8 has specializations like power electronics, embedded systems, and renewable energy. Electives and project-based learning are also a part of the curriculum.

Old and under-construction hostel blocks.
Placements: Most of the students who go through the placement procedures get placed in one way or another. Mass recruitments, such as 3-5 LPA, are most common. Packages above 15 LPA are very rare, and only 2–3 students from each branch get placed in such companies. Overall, the placement rate is high compared to other colleges.
Infrastructure: My college has excellent facilities, especially the exquisitely constructed academic buildings that add to the campus's visual appeal. The campus's overall superb architecture fosters an atmosphere that is ideal for study and exploration. The college library, a three-story building with a sizable book collection that guarantees students have access to all the materials they need for their degrees, is one of the highlights. This library is a great academic resource for students, offering a productive and peaceful environment for research and study. The library is accessible even at late-night times. An additional benefit on campus is a health center that provides free medical care and prescription drugs to students. The availability of the health services and their free price show how dedicated the college is to the welfare of its students. The hostel's services, however, show an important gap in class. The food in the oldest block on campus, where I stayed, was superior to that of the other blocks, even though it was the holder. Regretfully, the living circumstances are not comparable. On the other hand, three brand-new hostel blocks have just been built, but they are still under construction and not yet completely functional. Despite this, students are already being housed in them, which raises questions regarding their comfort and safety while visiting. All things considered, my college's academic and medical facilities are excellent, but the dorms could use some serious work. The institution can guarantee a higher standard of living with sustained investment and attention to the completion of the new dorm blocks.
Faculty: I have currently finished the second year of my degree. I have had several faculty members who have lectured me. Out of these, 2/3 of the faculty members are exceptionally good and have good subject knowledge. However, one-third of the faculty members that I had didn't even know how to speak English properly. Even though most of the teachers have good subject knowledge, they will help you if you go to them personally. Their contribution in classes is very minimal. 99 percent of the studying you do in college is by yourself, and that includes finding the materials and everything. Most of the teachers won't even give proper lecture notes. The passing of exams purely depends on the faculty members. If the faculty feels like passing, everyone will pass. If they feel like failing more than half of the class, they can.

The eligibility says nothing about Diploma. I personally haven't seen anyone join by lateral entry in Chennai’s campus. It would be better to call and ask, either from Chennai campus or Vellore campus. You can find their contact information online.
