B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2025

Faculty members, classes, library, hostel, mess food, ambulance services, and everything are good.
Placements: 50-60% of students got placed. The average package is 4 LPA - 5 LPA. Both technical and non-technical jobs are offered. Many companies come to our college. There are different number of grounds for each company. Mostly first round is conducted online mode. In that few are from own location and others we have to write it in the college.
Infrastructure: Hostels are pretty good. Generally, if we see in many other colleges, hostels are not that good but the prices are high but here the hostel is pretty decent. They provide both north and south Indian dishes. Free Wi-Fi, night canteen, and a small smart are also there. We have a health block and ambulance services are also available. We have a sports club and there are teams for different games and sports so you can join them. Labs, classrooms, and library are pretty good.
Faculty: Teachers are definitely helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Definitely semester exams are a bit tough compared to other colleges. Most of the senior lecturers have doctorates in their stream. The best part is that we can select teachers for most of the subjects, and we can also make a timetable for ourselves.
Other: We have two fests per year, one is Vibrance and the other one is Techno VIT. Both are pretty nice events. Coming to the events, we conduct number of events. We have at least 1-2 events per day (from any club) except for exam days.

The faculty are really good. There are very good placements.
Placements: Last year the placements were 100%. The highest offered was 1.5 crore, and the lowest was 3 lakhs. The top recruiting companies are Google, Flipkart, Amazon, and many more. The percent of students who got internships from my course is 100%, and many companies offer internships based on VLSI.
Infrastructure: There is a lot of infrastructure available on the campus, such as a library, canteens, basketball court, tennis court, gym, swimming pool, etc. The hostel contains a gym, tennis court, and shops. The quality of food in the mess is good, and there are various types of mess: veg, non-veg, and special mess.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They are very qualified and knowledgeable. The minimum qualification for professors is a post-graduation along with a Ph.D. The curriculum is relevant. It makes the students ready. The semester exams are moderate, and the pass percentage is nearly 90%.
Other: I chose the course only due to my sole interest and passion on the electrical side. The best things about the course are the knowledge and hands-on experience I get.

Good engineering college for people who wish to learn practical application along with theory.
Placements: About 80 percent of the students get placed. The highest package is about 50 LPA, depending on the company and job position. Top roles offered are VLSI designers and embedded systems analysts. Many companies, such as Google and Microsoft, offer high-paying jobs in campus interviews.
Infrastructure: The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is good, along with various options to choose from. The medical facilities, sports, and game facilities are also well maintained and accessible to students. The facilities are well built, such as high-tech labs, smart classrooms, and libraries.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful when it comes to clearing doubts about the topics taught. They are enthusiastic in sharing additional knowledge related to the subject to throw light on daily life applications. This is helpful as students can understand and relate to the content rather than just mugging the concepts.
Other: Both technical and non-technical fests take place, one in each semester, for students to learn new things and showcase their talents.

Review of Vellore Institute of Technology - Chennai Campus.
Placements: 80% students were placed in my course The highest package was 55 lakh the lowest package was 3 lakh and the average package was 10 lakh. Samsung, Nvidia, TCS, etc. are the top recruiting companies in my course. 50% of the students got internships from companies like Samsung, TCS, Qualcomm, Intel, etc. SDE 2, Electronics Engineer, etc. are some of the roles offered on this course.
Infrastructure: The facilities include a canteen, chat and bakery food courts. V-Mart is a multipurpose shopping mall stocking various student essentials, from mattresses and clothing to greeting cards. Standby power generators are available in the institute and hostels. Wi-Fi operates for 18 hours daily, and classrooms are neat and clean. Medical facilities are available 24/7. There’s a good sports and games area where you can play anytime.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. While the teaching quality may not be the best, it’s understandable, and some teachers are very good. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. Semester exams are challenging, but if you study, you can pass with good grades. Most students pass the exams.
Other: I chose this course because it’s my favorite field, and I have a strong interest in robotics and electronics-related subjects. This course is essential for many other fields. The events and fests are great, and everyone enjoys them a lot. The crowd isn’t too large, and the campus is near Chennai station, so connectivity is good. The campus is full of greenery. Scholarships are provided to high scorers, and there are also plenty of extracurricular activities.

VIT Chennai: A Journey of Growth and Opportunity.
Placements: At VIT Chennai, the placement rates of an engineering batch of students are remarkable. Almost 85–90% of students obtain a job after completing their degree. The maximum offered package tends to vary around 30 LPA, while the minimum could go as low as 3-4 LPA, with an average salary of about 6-8 LPA. Some of the top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, and Microsoft, to name a few. Internship opportunities are also available to around 70% (Cognizant, Accenture, Bosch, etc.) of the pupils, the majority of whom are esteemed organizations. Most frequently offered positions include software engineer, data analyst, and system analyst, as per the requirements of the industry, which requires more technical manpower.
Infrastructure: The engineering courses that VIT Chennai offers have a proper structure in place. There is a high-speed network available across the premises, specialized labs for all disciplines, modern lecture theatres fitted with sound and screen facilities, and a well-equipped library with a wide range of books and periodicals. Most of the hostels are decent, with ample-sized rooms and minimum amenities. The mess and the canteen food served are very decent, with lots of choices. As for the medical assistance, there is a very simple health care facility available within the campus. In the same vein, the students are also provided with some sporting and recreational amenities, which include a cricket field, football ground, basketball court and indoor activities like table tennis and badminton.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members at VIT Chennai are qualified, with many possessing advanced degrees and some work experience. They are friendly and committed to the success of the students. Therefore, teaching quality is high. The course content is contemporary and extensive, with specific emphasis on industry needs so that students do not face difficulties in getting jobs. The semester examinations are not very tough as they assess both theory and practice. The passing percentage is usually between 80 and 90%. This suggests that the education system in place is very supportive of students achievement. In conclusion, the faculty and the course work are jointly able to provide a favorable teaching and learning environment.
Other: The engineering course I opted for at VIT Chennai was due to the highly regarded status and competent faculty of the institution. The best parts include the hands-on mode of learning, the availability of modern facilities, and the energetic campus life. Nevertheless, the level of industrial exposure and collaborations is not enough. The campus is full of activities and festivals with the active participation of students, which creates a healthy and lively environment. The location is convenient since transportation is easily accessible. There are a number of places to eat and have fun around the area. Financial aid is offered to eligible students and different forms of extracurricular activities are present, such as sports, arts and tech clubs, which enrich the student's life.

Best engineering college for students who want to do both studies and extracurricular activities.
Placements: More than 90 percent of students were placed in top companies, with the average package being 8 LPA. Many companies recruit students from VIT, such as Google, JP Morgan, and Microsoft. Internships are made mandatory for all students to gain work experience before they get placed, and they are given practice to tackle real-life problems.
Infrastructure: VIT never compromises on the facilities offered to students. They provide various facilities for students to engage in their field of interest. Students have the liberty to roam the campus until 8 PM, and attendance is taken regularly to ensure their safety. Students are provided with sports goods to encourage physical activity during their free time.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and always ready to clear any doubts. They teach relevant content and provide additional points beyond the curriculum as extra knowledge for students. The students are made industry-ready. Semester exams are easy to tackle if students understand the concepts in depth, with a pass percentage of around 98%.

Our campus is equipped with modern infrastructure.
Placements: Our campus placements are decent, with an average package ranging between 7 LPA and 8 LPA. The major recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and Microsoft. The big packages given are mostly off-campus. The lowest packages range between 3 and 4 LPA. Most of the students get internships in their field, many of which are paid.
Infrastructure: Our campus is equipped with modern infrastructure, having fully air-conditioned classrooms with smart classes. The campus size is big and surrounded by greenery. The library gives a peaceful environment to study, and it contains many books of different streams. The canteen in the college is subsidised and provides decent food. Our ECE labs feature advanced equipment for circuit design, testing, and signal processing.
Faculty: Our college has highly qualified teachers with years of experience. They are also very helpful to students who are eager to learn the curriculum taught at VIT, which is relevant to industry needs. Our college also hosts guest lectures and workshops regularly, which help students become industry-ready. The end-of-semester exams are decent; if one studies regularly, they can get good marks.

Academics and extracurricular activities in VIT Chennai.
Placements: Almost everyone on the campus will get placed if they are eligible to attend the placements. The highest package last year was 44LPA, and average package was 9 LPA - 11 LPA. Many top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, MotorQ, Apple, ARM, BSNL, Cadence, MTNL, PayPal, VMWare, etc. VIT ensures to get internships to the students while many students attend off-campus interviews for internships. Roles offered in wireless communication and signal processing, laser and optics electronic devices, telecommunication, nanotechnology, robotics, power systems, embedded systems, etc.
Infrastructure: College will provide free Wi-Fi (limit 200 GB) every month. Every course has a specific lab with all the required facilities and equipments. All the classrooms here are smart classrooms and students can access the library till 12:00 AM everyday except the weekends. They provide a wide variety of options in the mess food, and the quality of the food is pretty good when compared to other colleges. There is a health center that students can access anytime they want with specialized doctors and immediate ambulance facilities all the time. College provides equal importance to both academics and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Every teacher here is a Ph.D. scholar and very knowledgeable in their own field. I would say the teaching quality is very good, and teachers here are very helpful to all the students. The curriculum provided by VIT has almost covered all the required concepts and topics for the students to top all the interviews and make them industry-ready. Exams are moderate in college, and students who failed to pass the exams can re-attend the classes in the next semester and give their best results again.
Other: I was always interested in the field of electronics, and I wanted to pursue my bachelors in electronics as the scope for semiconductor industries is high. I would like them to provide more real-time industry knowledge to the students. When it comes to events, VIT makes sure that every student here has fun apart from academics. There are two big events in the overall year, one is TechnoVIT and the other is Vibrance. VIT is a highly diverse college with students from all over the country.
