IIT Goa Cutoff 2024: Check Category Wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Ranks

The IIT Goa cutoff 2024 was released for several BTech specialisations. For the students belonging to the general AI quota, the JEE Advanced last-round closing ranks fell between 5371 and 12066. The cutoff was released as opening and closing ranks for different categories. For the General category students in the AI quota, the first and last-round closing ranks for the CSE course stood at 4654 and 5371, respectively. For other categories, read this article.

IIT Goa Cutoff 2024 For General All India Category 

For the General AI category candidates, the IIT Goa BTech cutoff 2024 was released for CSE, Electrical, Mathematics & Computing, and Mechanical Engineering. Among all the specialisations, the most competitive was CSE, with first and last-round closing ranks of 4654 and 5371, respectively. For Electrical Engineering, the first-round cutoff was 7944; in the last round, the closing rank stood at 9603. For the rest of the BTech specialisations, check out the table below:

IIT Goa Cutoff 2024 For OBC All India Category

The JEE Advanced first-round cutoffs among the OBC category students fell between 1987 and 4225. During the last round, the closing ranks ranged between 2002 and 4696. Considering both rounds, CSE was the most sought-after BTech specialisation. Students not eligible for CSE admission due to its competitive ranks can also consider less competitive BTech specialisations, including Mathematics & Computing Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The closing cutoffs for Mathematics & Computing and Electrical Engineering were 2593 and 3573, respectively. The initial round cutoff for the same BTech specialisations stood at 3426 for admission to the Electrical Engineering course, while for Mathematics & Engineering, the first-round cutoff remains the same as the last round. 

Q:   What is the opening and closing rank for BTech in Electrical Engineering at IIT Goa?
A:

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For General category under All India, opening rank was 7902 and closing rank was 8909. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 2709 and 14463. Admission to BTech in Electrical Engineering in IIT Goa is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

IIT Goa JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 4654 and, 10653 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is 4654 for the General AI category.

Furthermore, according to IIT Goa OBC AI category cutoff 2024, the Last Round closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering is 1987.

Candidates seeking admission to IIT Goa through OBC AI quota must have a valid JEE Advanced score. IIT Goa has released the cutoffs for separate All India category candidates. Considering the IIT Goa JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, the last-round closing rank for CSE and Mathematical and Computer Engineering stood at 5371 and 6685, respectively, for the General AI category candidates. However, for OBC quota, the needed rank as per the IIT Goa cutoff 2024, stood at 2002 and 2593, respectivley, for the aforementioned programs.

Compared to the General and OBC category students, the JEE Advanced cutoff ranks were comparatively tough for admission among the students belonging to the SC category in the AI quota. As per the 2024 JEE Advanced cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 1024; for Mathematics and Computing Engineering, the cutoff was 1613; for admission to the Electrical Engineering course, the cutoff closed at 1889. Among all the BTech specialisations, Mechanical Engineering stands out as the least competitive, with a last-round closing rank of 2427.

IIT Goa Cutoff 2024 For ST All India Category

Candidates can refer to the table below to view the JEE Advanced first and last-round closing ranks. IIT Goa offers four-year, full-time BTech courses at the undergraduate level. Admission to all the BTech courses is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Advanced entrance exam, followed by JoSAA counselling rounds. IIT Goa offers CSE, Mechanical, Electrical and Mathematics & Computing Engineering courses. Of all the BTech specialisations, the most competitive was CSE, with first and last-round closing ranks of 399 and 519, respectively. For other courses, the cutoff details are mentioned below:

IIT Goa Cutoff 2024 For EWS All India Category

For the EWS category students, the IIT Goa JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 for the first and last rounds is tabulated below. As per the table below, the closing ranks for all the BTech specialisations saw a shift from the first to the last round. This indicates that the seats were not filled in the initial rounds of admission due to their competitive cutoff ranks. Consequently, the closing ranks increased in the last round, indicating less competition to fill the vacant seats of IIT Goa for the EWS category students in the AI quota. Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech in CSE at IIT Goa for candidates other than General category?
A:

The year 2023 cutoff ranks for BTech in Mathematics and Computing Engineering at IIT Goa other than General category are - 2579 for OBC, 1583 for SC, 699 for ST, 1154 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Advanced, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   Can I get IIT Goa with 5000 rank in JEE Advanced?
A:

Yes, it is possible to get admission to IIT Goa with a rank of 5000 in JEE Advanced. The cutoff was released for candidates seeking admission to the BTech specialisations. The round 3 cutoff for General AI category candidates was closed between the range of 5628 and 11533. Therefore, as per the cutoff range, it is possible to get admission to the college with a rank of 5000 in JEE Advanced. Q:   What has been the trend for cut off in BTech in Mathematics and Computing Engineering in IIT Goa in last few years?
A:

The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Goa has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for BTech under General category for all India quota was 5756. In 2022, it decreased to 5555. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 2399 to 2476 for OBC, 1764 to 1491 for SC, 695 to 554 for ST, 837 to 990 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for Engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories, however, the ranks are slightly different.
