JoSAA 2026 counselling for JEE Main and JEE Advanced qualifiers will begin in June 2026. The entire schedule of JoSAA counselling 2026 will be uploaded on josaa.nic.in.

Q:   When will the JEE Advanced 2026 result release?
A:

The JEE Advanced 2026 result will be out a few days of the exam is over, tentatively in the first week of June 2026. The candidates will be able to check the JEE Advanced 2026 result online on the official website.

Q:   Is the JEE Advanced result and scorecard different?
A:

YES. The JEE Advanced 2026 result will be initially announced that will have the subject wise marks and overall marks of the candidates at jeeadv.ac.in. Also, there will be the JEE Advanced AIR of the candidate alonwith the qualifying status. This result is just for information of the candidates so that they can start with the admission process.

However, the JEE Advanced scorecard, which acts as the official document is issued a few days later on the official website - jeeadv.ac.in.

JEE Advanced 2025 Marking Scheme

Candidates have to use the JEE Advanced 2025 marking scheme to calculate scores using the JEE Advanced response sheet and the answer keys. The JEE Advanced 2025 exam pattern and marking scheme can be checked in the JEE Advanced 2025 question paper, or the same is given below:

Section-wise JEE Advanced marking scheme for Paper 1:

Section Number of questions and Type of questions Marking scheme
1 4 Single Correct MCQs +3 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted.
2 3 Multiple Correct MCQs

+4 ONLY if (all) the correct option(s) is(are) chosen

+3 If all four options are correct, but ONLY three options are chosen

+2 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct

+1 If two or more options are correct, but ONLY one option is chosen and it is a correct option
0 If none of the options is chosen

−2 In all other cases

3 6 Numerical Answer Type +4 for correct answer, no negative marking.

Q:   Will I get my JEE Advanced result via email?
A:

The conducting IIT sometimes send the JEE Advanced result on the email of parents and candidates are provided while registering for the exam. However, in certain year the result is not sent via email. Hence, candidates whould not wait for the JEE Advanced result on their email and check it from the official website - jeeadv.ac.in as soon as the result is out.

Q:   What it means if I get no rank in JEE Advanced result?
A:

If you get no rank in JEE Advanced result, that means you have not qualified the exam. The candidates who qualify the exam are only assigned a rank ijn the exsam and it is mentioned on the result.

Overall, 50-55% seats are reserved in IITs. The break-up of reservation is - 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 10% for Gen-EWS and 5% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates.

Physics is the most difficult of all three subjects asked in the JEE Advanced exam. Many students also finds Maths as the toughest. It largely depends upon the understanding of candidates and how well the students are equipped with basic knowledge of any subject.
