A:

SVKMs NMIMS assesses critical thinking and analytical skills using the Reasoning and General Intelligence section of NPAT Exam. In this section of NPAT exam, in order to solve questions that are based on critical thinking, test takers should try to analyse the roles and conditions and based on it, solve the questions. For questions related to problem-solving, try to analyse the information and assimilate them in a suitable form to answer those questions. Candidates must practise as many questions as possible to get aware of different types of questions.

Q:   How to prepare for Verbal Reasoning section in NPAT?
A:

In this section of NPAT exam, test takers need to recognise grammatical structure and usage, use prepositions, determiners, connectives, tenses appropriately. Grasping the meaning of underlined words in sentences, using appropriate words in given context, put ideas into logical sequences by putting the jumbled sentences in the correct order. The first three months of the NPAT preparation plan must be devoted to studying all three sections. Candidates can find the NPAT syllabus at the official exam website, nmimsnpat.in. The first steps towards preparing for NPAT should include knowing the NPAT exam pattern and syllabus. Here are some steps to be followed for top-notch preparation in six months:

  • Go through the NPAT syllabus and exam pattern, including the sections, marking scheme, and more.
  • Buy the required study material that should include NPAT recommended books, mock tests, previous year’s question papers and more.
  • Start with solving a previous year’s question paper to get aware of the difficulty levels and topic-wise weightage to know the important topics.
  • Analyse the easiest and toughest section; start studying the topics from the section you find difficult.
  • Allocate at least 40 days for the section you find difficult, 25 days for the section with a moderate difficulty level, and at least 15 days for the section you find easiest.
  • Prepare short notes for all sections to aid the last-minute preparation for NPAT 2026.
