B.Tech. in Marine Engineering - Batch of 2018

The college is good, but the facilities are not enough for the fee we paid.
Placements: From my batch and my senior batch, some of the students are still struggling for placements. The college is not taking any interest in providing placements. During my admission, they said that the college will provide 100% placements. For placements, they charge extra Rs. 1 lacs apart from fees. But, none of the students got placed.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good. Lab assistants are not up to the mark. In the workshop, the machinery is not opened for overhauling. Sometimes, teachers used to take our attendance and tell us to go back to the hostel, and the lecture will be continued in the next class. Sometimes, the syllabus was not completed on time, and we had to prepare on our own.
Faculty: The college has a shortage of faculty members, but the faculty members present are helpful. They share their knowledge with us, but we don't get any practical knowledge related to the machines. Some of the faculty members treat every student equally, and some don't.
Other: Sports facilities are good, but there is no ground for athletics. Students got injured several times during the athletic meet.

Other: The most substandard college in terms of faculty not to judge anyone but none knew the Basic English, except a few who I really admire at that point, if someone is to join this college specifically for Marine Engineering I would say strictly no. Apart from that college didn’t have the basic facilities of sport and leave about the management they hardly care about the fellow students and pose fine of no reasons on them, And not to mention the food and love for Potatoes the worst food of all time. And yea past 4-5 years not a single student has got placed that’s the sugar on top. Pros to join this college- It will make you live in the worst situation, you can survive anywhere in the world if you have passed out from this college. Cons- List is endless. P.S. - If you are from a metro city and joining this college my suggestion is to better be degreeless than to be a part of a money laundering institution.

I don't suggest this college for marine engineering to any students.
Placements: The college does not provide placements. Only 5-6 people got a placement as college is not taking an interest in marine engineering. They only focus on other B.Tech branches. For placement, students of our batch and our seniors have to work hard in Mumbai.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure at the starting of our session was not according to what they show, but after struggling for 2-3 years and complaint of college, they have improved it. Now it is well-maintained and highly decorated.
Faculty: Faculty members are provided for a short period. As the faculty members are sailing, they have to leave the college in between the course. The course curriculum is not appropriate according to the standard of Indian Maritime University. College asks students of different branches to sit together.

In this condition, you can't get admission in any college. Only students who have passed PCM can pursue B.Tech.

See, I am not sure about it, they may accept but once have a conversation with the management. If you want to pursue marine engineering from CV Raman I know a way for it and that is through OJEE counseling and it requires a JEE Mains score.

In CVRCE there is no specific criteria but you need to stay in campus hostel for daily and with a decent rank and score in JEE you can get into marine engineering in CV Raman.
