IIT Hyderabad has an amazing infrastructure and good placements.
Placements: IIT Hyderabad provides the best placements in top companies all over the country, and the maximum students got campus placements. Other students got better jobs themselves or started their own ventures. Internships are provided, and the students got paid for the internship. The highest package offered in 2024 was 44 lacs per annum, and the average package size was 14 to 18 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: IITs are always best in infrastructure, and like that, IIT Hyderabad provides each facility which a student can think of: well-stocked library, well-equipped classrooms, good-quality food, etc., and other facilities, but the hostel rooms are small. Sports opportunities and medical facilities are also provided by the college.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and well established. Teachers here are quite knowledgeable and experienced. Their teaching style is modern and it focuses on practicals rather than theory. The curriculum is totally relevant and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are very tough and projects are also time-consuming. Students need to maintain at least a 7 CGPA.

A learners haven, good for learning and realizing one’s potential.
Placements: According to what I have heard this time, placements were average, with 60 percent placed and our course having the highest package of 60 lakh/annum and a median of 28 lakh/annum. In internships, as of now, the process is still going on, with the majority for SDE roles.
Infrastructure: Our institute infrastructure with library lecture halls and each department building is top-notch and better than most private colleges and older institutions. Hostels are also pretty luxurious, with Japanese architecture and radiant cooling. The mess food is actually pretty tolerable, with a special dinner served once a month having more varieties. The food is balanced and occasionally has fruits and sweets.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely qualified, though some have hard time communicating with students. The courses are updated and useful and semester exams are hard but grading is relatively easy, so manageable. The majority of the courses are passable, whereas some courses, due to the complex concepts and strict professors, are hard to crack.
Other: Extracurricular activities and clubs are pretty good but locations are not nice, as they're not accessible and far from Hyderabad city.

I am quite dissatisfied because of the infrastructure.
Placements: About 75 percent of the students were placed in my course. The highest package was 12 lacs, the average package was 7.5 lacs, and the lowest package was 5 lacs. Many reputed companies visited our college during the session, and several students got internships.
Infrastructure: The overall facilities and infrastructure available for our department are good, but the technologies like computers and projectors are outdated. A well-stocked library with all the requirements is present. Multiple sports facilities and a medical center are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very experienced and qualified. They provide both online and offline resources for studying so that students can perform well in the examinations. Our course is curriculum-relevant, and many activities are conducted. The semester exams are not very difficult.

Review by electrical engineer of IIT HYDERABAD.
Placements: In my course, 40% of students got placed in the 2024 passout batch. The highest package is 1.6 crores from the CS branch this year. Samsung and KLA are the top companies for the electrical course. 30% of students got internships from my course this year. Some people go for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IIT Hyderabad is good compared to other 2nd generation IITs. They provide free Wi-Fi in academic blocks and a LAN port in hostels, which we should connect to in order to access Wi-Fi. They give one room for each student. The mess food is good. There is a canteen where we can get food. All sports facilities are available in our college.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified, with Ph.D. in their respective fields. The course curriculum is relevant, allowing us to prepare for other exams in the 4th year. The semester exams are somewhat difficult. Almost every student passes in every semester. The teaching quality is good.
Other: I chose this course based on my JEE Advanced rank. There are two big fests held on our campus every year called Milan and Elan. Milan is a sports fest and Elan is a cultural fest.

Very satisfied because of infrastructure and faculties.
Placements: The percentage of the students were placed in my department was 72 percent. The highest package was 13 lacs and the average package was 8 lacs and the lowest package was 4 lacs. The top recruiting companies were Capgemini, L&T Infotech, TCS etc. Many students got internships.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for my course are very good. The classrooms and labs are well maintained and organized properly. A well stocked library is present. The hostel rooms are average. Multiple sports and medical facilities are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very skilled and experienced. The teaching quality is good. Curriculum activities are only conducted in the starting of semester. The semester exams are quite difficult. All the faculties and college staff is very supportive and helpful.

Q:   Can I join IIT Hyderabad without JEE?
A:

It's not possible to get admission to the BTech programme without JEE. The primary method for securing admission to IIT Hyderabad's BTech programme is by taking the Joint Entrance Examination, which is a national-level entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. JEE is a mandatory requirement for most undergraduate engineering programmes at IITs, including IIT Hyderabad. Nevertheless, it is crucial to recognise that admission processes and criteria may evolve over time. To remain informed, it is recommended to regularly visit the official website of IIT Hyderabad or reach out to their admissions department directly. It's possible to get into IIT Hyderabad without JEE only if the aspiring candidate is looking to seek admission to the MTech programme. For admission to the MTech programme the candidates need to pass GATE exam and they need to have graduation with 60% marks.

A:

Q:   Which branch is best in IIT Hyderabad?
A:

There are multiple factors to be taken into consideration while looking for the best branch. The most common criteria upon branch selection are the cutoff required for admission and the placements achieved upon course completion. Looking at the IIT Hyderabad placements 2024, CSE emerged as the top branch in terms of the highest package received. However, CSE is the most competitive branch with a 2024 Round 1 closing rank of 649 for the General category candidates. Looking at the IIT Hyderabad CSE cutoff (Round 1) for the past three years (2022 to 2024), a declining trend was observed. From 585 in 2022, it has declined to 649 in 2024. This means it has become easier to get IIT Hyderabad admission 2024 in BTech CSE compared to the last two years. Thus, indicating more students competing for the limited seats at IITH. Despite being the toughest branch to get into, CSE is also the most fruitful branch in terms of placements after graduation.

Students should also consider the placement percentage while selecting the most suitable branch for them. Artificial Intelligence (AI) recorded the highest placement rate of 92.59% during IIT Hyderabad placements 2024. For the most preferred branch, i.e. CSE the placement rate stood at 79.37%.
