IIT Jammu admission 2026 is entrance-based. The institute accepts JEE Advanced scores for admission to its flagship programme i.e. BTech. Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Jammu need to appear in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. For MTech, admission is subject to GATE score followed by COAP counselling. Admission to PhD programme is entrance-based. Applicants need to appear for IIT JAM for admission to MSc programme.

Yes, you will get CSE at IIT Jammu with a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of 6000 if you belong to the General AI quota. However, you have to wait till the last round, as the cutoff ranks are generally higher in the initial rounds. For the unreserved category, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff 2025 was 5988 in the first round. In the last round, the cutoff rank closed at 6651. Therefore, the probability of you getting CSE with a 6000 rank is high in the last round for admission. IIT Jammu Admission Process 2026
IIT Jammu admission is a multi-step process. Starting with the application, students need to go through the course-specific entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). No, students seeking admission to IIT Jammu for MTech are required to have a valid score in the GATE exam. Other than this, the institute also conducts a written test and interview for further selection as per the official brochure. Yes, while applying for the MTech programme at IIT Jammu, a student has to first register compulsorily on COAP portal. It is also mandatory for all candidates with valid GATE score to register at COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) and use the COAP registration number while filling the application form of IIT Jammu. The admission to MTech at IIT Jammu is entrance-based. Candidates are required to appear for GATE exam and secure a good score. A cutoff list is then released to declare the minimum score required for selection. Candidates who meet the cutoff score become eligible for participation in COAP counselling.
