IIT Jammu admission is a multi-step process. Starting with the application, students need to go through the course-specific entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). Step 1: Students seeking admission in IIT Jammu must submit the online application form for course-specific entrance exam or college depending on the course they wish to get into.

- Students are required to apply via the official website of IIT Jammu for PhD programmes.
Step 2: Aspirants need to have JEE Advanced scores for BS/ BTech and GATE scores for MTech. Admission to MSc programme is based on IIT JAM scores of the candidates. The selection for PhD is based on CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR scores. Aspirants can also apply with GATE scores provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
Step 3: Candidates must score equal or above IIT Jammu cutoff in the accepted entrance exam for admission. After the selection rounds are completed, candidates need to go through the course-wise counselling process for final seat allotment. Selected candidates need to come for document verification. IIT Jammu offers a two-year MTech programme at the PG level. The course is divided into four semesters. The institute offers MTech in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Bioscience and Bioengineering and other sub-specialisations. Admission to this course is based on a GATE score followed by COAP counselling. Aspirants must complete their graduation to apply for MTech programmes.

No, students seeking admission to IIT Jammu for MTech are required to have a valid score in the GATE exam. Other than this, the institute also conducts a written test and interview for further selection as per the official brochure. To add, students are also required to have passed their BTech degree in relevant branch. This information is as per details released by the institute for admission to its MTech course. However, for any other information around direct admission, candidates are advised to reach out to the admission office of the college for details.
The minimum eligibility required is a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (4-year course) or a master's degree in Science with 60%-65% aggregate. Relaxation of 5% aggregate or 0.5 CPI is offered to SC/ST/PwD category candidates on the minimum eligibility score.

The admission to MTech at IIT Jammu is entrance-based. Candidates are required to appear for GATE exam and secure a good score.
