Review of IIT Kanpur - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: In our senior batch, 55 out of 70 are placed right now, with an average package of 15 LPA (Base). Top recruiting companies were Microsoft, Intel, Flipkart, Saplabs etc. Top roles were SDE, Data Scientist, Cybersecurity Engineer etc. The highest package offered was 60 LPA.
Infrastructure: We have high-speed IITK Wi-Fi network available all over the campus. Infrastructure of our department is top-notch. Labs are air-conditioned and well-equipped with printers, computers, and other required setups. Hostel rooms have all the major facilities. We have a cupboard, table, chair, etc. Mess food is good and has all varieties. The health center is open 24/7. Sports and games facilities are exceptional. We have football and cricket grounds, squash and badminton halls, carrom and chess boards, yoga room, wall climbing facility, etc.
Faculty: The faculty members of IIT Kanpur are very experienced in their fields. The environment here is research-oriented and a rich culture of innovation is present. The course curriculum is relevant. All courses are electives. We can choose all courses on our own, according to interest and industry preference. Semester exams are difficult. Pass percentage varies from course to course.
Other: There are three major fests in IIT Kanpur- Antaragini, the cultural fest, Udghosh, the sports fest, and Techkriti, the technical fest. These days of fests are just amazing. We get a 12400 stipend for teaching assistantship. We have to spend 3 hours per week for solving coding doubts of students.
