- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam for IIT Kanpur admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam date for admission to the MSc course is Feb 15, 2026.
- For the M.Des programme, the CEED 2026 entrance exam is scheduled for Jan 18, 2026, with results to be announced on Mar 4, 2026.

Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
IIT Kanpur accepts JEE Advanced ranks for admission to the BTech and other courses. JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to IIT Kanpur. The round 1 cutoff for the General AI category candidates is ranged between 270 and 9662. the lowest rank one can achieve is, 270 for B.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering for the General All India category candidates. In addition to that, CSE was the most competitive course among all the courses. Similarly, for the OBC AI category candidates, the CSE still having the lowest rank of 142. IIT Kanpur offers a four-year BS degree (Bachelor of Science) which is also referred to as BSc by many. IIT Kanpur BTech course fee is INR 8 Lakhs. This fee is sourced from unofficial sources. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office. Students should pay the JEE Main application fee which is Rs 625 and 325 for boys and girls. JEE Advanced application fee is between 1,400 and INR 2,800.
The total tuition fees for the BTech course at IIT Kanpur is INR 8 L. Eligible students can also avail various scholarship schemes offered by the institute.
IIT Kanpur MBA total tuition fee ranges between INR 2.8 Lacs and INR 13.1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee excludes admission fee, security deposits, semester fee and hostel charges. There is relaxation in fee for reserved category students. Candidates need to pay fee after completion of the selection rounds, to confirm their seat.
Apart from the tuition fee, aspirants need to register with an application fee in the start of the admission process. The application fee is INR 1,600 for General/ OBC (NCL) candidates. The fee is low (INR 800) for SC/ ST/ DAP candidates.

- After the application process is over; students have to go through various selection rounds for final admission. The institute considers the merit of the candidates for MBA and PhD admission.
- For BTech, MDes, MSc, BSc and MTech courses, JEE Advanced, IIT JAM CEED and GATE scores are considered for the selection of candidates.
- Additionally, admission to PhD and MS by Research is based on UGC NET/ CSIR NET and other national-level exam scores.
- After the exams, JoSAA, COAP and CCMN Counselling are conducted for seat allotment to BTech, M.Tech and MSc courses. However, a merit list is released by the institute for announcing the names of the candidates shortlisted for certificate, PhD and MS by Research courses followed by a counselling round. Candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.
The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is 238 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Kanpur - Indian Institute of Technology.
With respect to the past years' cutoff, Mathematics and Scientific Computing is considered to be the most competitive specialisation under this programme. Followed by this, Statistics & Data Science and Economics are the popular specialisations available at IIT Kanpur. NTA announced JEE Main 2024 dates. NTA coducted the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions. JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 was January 24 to February 1 while the second session was held from April 4 to 15. Candidates can check JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 and 2 on this page. JEE Main 2024 application form session 1 was available from November 1 to December 4. For session 2, NTA released application form on February 2.
