IIT Kanpur admissions 2026 are expected to open soon. Interested students can go to the official website of the institute to stay updated. A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams for IIT Kanpur admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses are now over. The JEE Main exam 2026 results will tentatively be announced by Feb 12, 2026.
- IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
- The cutoff marks for CEED 2026 Part A will be out on the official portal on Feb 5, 2026, for the MDes programme.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.II

Students must register at the COAP portal to view and accept their offers. Registration on COAP portal is free. Additionally, candidates are advised to download COAP 2022 information brochure. COAP Registration number is mandatory to apply for M.Tech at IIT Kanpur admission portal. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are communicated directly by the department via e-mail.

IIT Kanpur BTech course fee is INR 8 Lakhs. This fee is sourced from unofficial sources. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office. Students should pay the JEE Main application fee which is Rs 625 and 325 for boys and girls. JEE Advanced application fee is between 1,400 and INR 2,800.
IIT Kanpur BTech programme first year fee is INR 56,160 for GEN/OBC/EWS, SC/ST/PwD, and MEB categories. For OEB category students, first-year fee is higher at INR 89,493 due to the tuition fee component. This amount includes one-time charges, semester fees, and annual fees.
The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Biological Science and Bioengineering is 8031 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. IIT Kanpur MBA total tuition fee ranges between INR 2.8 Lacs and INR 13.1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee excludes admission fee, security deposits, semester fee and hostel charges. The application process for all the courses offered at IIT Kanpur is different. For BTech and BSc/ BS, aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in). NTA announced JEE Main 2024 dates. NTA coducted the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions. JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 was January 24 to February 1 while the second session was held from April 4 to 15. Candidates can check JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 and 2 on this page. JEE Main 2024 application form session 1 was available from November 1 to December 4. For session 2, NTA released application form on February 2.
