Good college, good facilities, okayish hostel, and above-average placements.

Placements: 60-70 percent of students were placed in my course. The highest package was around 40 LPA, the lowest was 8-9 LPA, and the average was 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies included Amazon, Cairn, Vedanta, British Petroleum, and Schaumburger. Relatively few students secured internships in core as well as software companies.

Infrastructure: The college offers 24/7 Wi-Fi, classrooms equipped with AC and projectors, and well-equipped labs. The hostels have good rooms, and the quality of food is decent for the price, though it could be improved. Medical facilities are okay, and there are good facilities for sports. However, some of the facilities are quite poor despite being a tier 1 college.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified, most are helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant but compressed without limit. It is relatively easy to pass if you have attended all classes; almost everyone passes. The assessment is designed in such a way that students should not be stressed about passing or failing a course in this branch.

Review of Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: Around 90% of students get placed and some are doing research in our department from foreign universities. Last year the median salary package offered was around 18 LPA and the highest salary package was 38 LPA. Top recruiters are Schlumberger, ONGC, Cairn, Oil India, Coal India, etc. Core and non-core recruiters are TCS and Wipro which select interns from our branch. Several students were awarded research fellowships from reputed institutions like the Indian Academy of Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy, the DST-INSPIRE, etc. Our college offers different free courses from other departments like ML, data science, robotics, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided for our course are very versatile with a small museum where different rocks and minerals are available. Our department has different equipment for research and lab facilities. There is equipment to detect minerals and ores inside the earth's surface for about 2km deep by using an electrical method. Wi-Fi is very good in classrooms. Hostel rooms are well furnished with two beds, two tables, Wi-Fi, and LAN facility that are accommodated two students. Food quality is very good. Mess is very well cleaned and workers take very good care of the hygiene of the food and mess area. There is a gym and sports complex for various sports.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and talented. They clear the doubts of the students whenever needed. The course curriculum is the best and all-around develops the students and makes them ready in every other field apart from the core sector. Semester exams are difficult but it is easy if students regularly attend the classes and follow the professor's advice.

Other: I chose this course because I was interested in this and if I want to study other domains like data structures and AI, then I get a good amount of time. Many events are organised in our to develop students apart from academics. Campus life is interesting and gives lifetime experience. Our college has a beautiful campus of around 2100 acres which is very green. Many scholarship programs are available like merit scholarships, etc. Extracurricular activities are organised. GC and Inter IIT sports, etc., are organised in our college. Many clubs and societies like robotics, space, business, e-cell, etc., are available.

I am satisfied with the college as it is overall best in the state and also in top 10.

Placements: Almost 95% of students are placed this year. Top recruiting companies were TCS, Wipro, and many more. Many students got internships in their 3rd year itself and many informative roles were also offered in our college. Our college also has many clubs related to our branch.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good and well maintained. The speed of Wi-Fi is average and labs are also well maintained. Vibes of classrooms and library are good but not decent. The quality of food and mess is also average. All extra facilities like medical, sports, and many more are also good.

Faculty: Our college has top-notch faculty members. Every faculty will help and guide you to your success. Questions in exams are also quite tricky and very knowledgeable. The curriculum is excellent for our college. Semester exams are the most challenging and the competition is also high in semester exams.

Other: The course offered to me was very informative to me.

Review of IIT Kharagpur B.Sc. Applied Geology

Placements: Approximately 35% of students get placed in my course. The highest salary is 38 LPA, and the lowest is around 8 LPA. The average salary is around 14 LPA. For core jobs, Schlumberger and British Petroleum are the top recruiting firms. Very few students get internships on campus. The top roles are in the petroleum industry in core positions.

Infrastructure: Rooms are decent. The food in my hostel is at least kind of good. Wi-Fi is available all around the campus. Classrooms are also quite good. Sports facilities are great here. Medical facilities are decent. Canteens are mostly open at night, although there are other restaurants too.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, with most having studied in the US or Switzerland. The curriculum is somewhat outdated. It does not make students industry-ready at all. Exams are not very difficult. I would say they are easy to pass, but a bit tough to get really good grades in this course.

My experience at IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: Placements are obviously good, considering this is one of the best colleges of its kind in the country. Students get placed across multiple domains such as software development, data, core engineering, consulting, finance, supply chain, product management, etc. Even if we do not get on-campus offers of our choice, we can always get equally good offers outside.

Infrastructure: Hostel infrastructure is quite decent for a government college. Rooms are pretty spacious. All kinds of sports and gym facilities are available within the hostel itself. Other facilities like an auditorium, music room, etc., are also available. Research infrastructure meets national standards but still lags at an international level.

Faculty: Faculty members are really experienced and co-operative. Attendance is mostly flexible, and we would mostly be encouraged to explore our fields of interest. There are around 5-6 courses per semester which is about 21-25 credits. If we are regular in classes and study rigorous for 2 weeks before exams, we are good to go.

The college is a brand that has a vast alumni network and prepares us for future challenges .

Placements: About 37 percent were placed last year in our branch.The highest was 37LPA and the lowest was 8 LPA and the average was around 12 LPA.Top recruiters were Google, Microsoft, Flipkart ,etc.Almost everyone got internships in companies like Google ,Microsoft.

Infrastructure: The wifi is quite good .It's speed is very fast .The infrastructure is also very nice and well maintained.The hostel rooms are very spacious and the mess food is quite good compared to other colleges.We have night canteen too.We have sports arenas for different sports and play till the night or sometimes all night.

Faculty: The professors are highly qualified people who have done phds in their subjects .They are also very humble and tell doubts if you go to them personally .They teach using slides which helps us a lot in learning .The semester exams are decent and can be handled one week before exam.The passing percentage depends on the professors.

Placements: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur Bachelor of Science placements are decent. Around 60-70% students of students in the batch get placed every year. The average package offered to the students is good enough; it's like 18 -20 Lacs per annum. Core + PSU roles dominate.
