My experience at IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placement opportunities in our department vary according to our interests. In core opportunities, the number of companies visiting is low and has high criteria for recruitment. Non-core opportunities are plentiful based on our expertise and good credentials.
Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure with respect to classrooms and labs is top-notch. Hostels and mess food depend on the hall we get allotted. Many halls serve good food with rare exceptions and for girls halls, it is very good. Many halls have enough amenities to indulge themselves and just relax like table tennis, badminton, football, cricket, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly good with rare exceptions. The course curriculum is very intense as we progress through our degree. Exams are also demanding and require significant time and effort. I believe students by the beginning of their 2nd year in college should make a decision about the career path that they would like to pursue and work accordingly. For that, they will get all the help they want inside the campus from friends, faculty members, and seniors.

IITKGP is the best, it's like an Island where everything is inside.
Placements: About 75 percent of students get placed in college. In our course, the chances of placements are very low but in non-core sectors like data science and software development. Students get a decent package. The highest salary package is 31 LPA the lowest salary package is 8 LPA and the average salary package is 11 LPA. Top recruiting companies are ONGC and many other tech companies that allow BS course students to sit in their interviews. Internships in geology are not so high as there are not many companies in the core. So chances of internships are very low.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by IITKGP are all the way top-notch. The library has air-conditioned rooms, where you can study all day from 8 am to 12 am. Classrooms and labs are good. Being the oldest IIT, infrastructure is not that good. Hostel rooms are not that good. The quality of food is also not that good but you will get used to it. For sports enthusiasts, there is no limitation in KGP. Every hall has its football, cricket, and basketball court where you can play anytime even at night.
Faculty: Professors of IITKGP are highly qualified and knowledgeable. But I'll recommend that always stay in the good books of professors and don't be a backbencher if want a good placement. For our course, exams are not that tough as compared to other departments. You can pass the exams easily and maintain a good CGPA.
Other: I chose this course just because I wanted to learn more about earth's geology and more about cosmology. Events in KGP are the best part of the year. KGP is on the outskirts of Kolkata, that's why not being a metropolitan city and not so famous too, many big celebrities don't come to fest.

It has the amazing infrastructure, facilities and a positive environment to build your personality.
Placements: About 60-70% of the students from our course got placed. The average salary package offered is 18 LPA. The highest salary package offered this year is 36 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies like ONGC, Oil India and DRDO visit our college for placements. Almost half of the third year students got an internship in ONGC, and others got PPOs. We will be future geophysicists. The top roles offered are ISRO and DRDO.
Infrastructure: There is a 24x7 LAN facility in every single hostel with a speed of 20 Mbps, which is pretty good to cover all the college projects. Labs are amazing, and you can find almost every single research instrument. The library has one of the largest libraries in India. Hostel facilities are good, apart from mess food. Medical facilities are amazing 24x7.
Faculty: Professors in our college are amazing and student-friendly. They are highly qualified with outstanding knowledge in the subject area. They emphasise more on learning by discussion and practical knowledge rather than mugging things. The course curriculum is relevant, and you will surely learn a lot of amazing things. It will help you in research as well as an industrial area. Only 5% of students fail in semester exams. Semester exams are a bit tough, and you have to study atleast an hour daily to get a decent CGPA.
Other: I have chosen this course because the applied geology course is best for those who want their career in the field of research. Our course has an amazing scope in the field of research, be it in leading organisations like ISRO. The placement analysis shows that this branch has got a fairly low average package compared to other branches, but it is fine as long as you keep on improving yourself and building your skills during your stay in college. Fests are amazing. Spring fest and Kshitiz are organised every year. Renowned musicians, singers or famous personalities come here on the occasion of the annual fest. The fest days are real stress busters after dreadful semester exams.

If you concentrate on your studies as much as you can, you will have enjoyment.
Placements: There will not be many students in this branch, i.e., nearly 40 to 50 students for a year. But the classes are conducted by combining them with other groups like exploration geophysics, etc. The highest salary package offered in the previous year was 35 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was nearly 7 LPA. The top recruiting company for our course is ONGC, and some students prepare for bank jobs and change their mind to opt for bank jobs. Our college doesn't provide many internships, but if you are good and interested in them, you can get one internship easily. Mainly, in this course, the study about earth include rocks and resources.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our college are very good because of its reputation, but the infrastructure is not very good. However, they will renovate it very quickly, and there are many labs and good Wi-Fi facility throughout the campus. The quality of the facilities provided in our hostel depends on us. The food served will vary from hostel to hostel. However, it is good and has many varieties of food items on the menu. Many grounds are available for sports, and it completely depends on our interest to play sports. The medical facility is available 24 hours.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified with knowledge but are not very good at teaching skills. Their teaching quality is average, but the resources provided to learn are very high. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready if they are completely willing to learn their course.
Other: I have chosen this course because there are plenty of resources to learn. I wish that our college should recruit teachers both based on knowledge and their teaching skills. Our college organises many events. If you are highly active, then you can attend events maybe 3 to 4 times a week.

2200 acre campus, well developed infrastructure, excellent placements, best exposure.
Placements: Overall placements are excellent. Core placements in departments except CSE, mathematics and computing, ECE are less as no. Of core companies visiting are less. Majority of individual prefers non core options like coding, data analytics, finance etc. And get placed in preferred field.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well developed with 2200 acre campus and the largest library in Asia. Some labs are not up to the mark but compared to other local, gov colleges it's and new iits it's far better. Movie auditorium for students well developed classrooms, play grounds are better than other top IITS. There are 21 hostel approximately and each one has different architecture.
Faculty: Faculty members are not that good but that's problem in every IITS. Still some professors are excellent and are always ready to help. According to my personal experience and what my senior told electrical dep faculty members are troublesome and mechanical dep faculty members are very helpful.
Other: IIT kgp has maximum no. Of societies ( robotix, adventure society, teamkart, codeclub, koss, tedx, dance, music, drama, entrepreneurship cell, alumni cell, international relational cell, branding and relation cell, literary society, communiq society etc. ), research groups, clubs then any other IIT. Social and cultural fest - spring fest and technology fest - kshitiz, apart from these are many departmental fests. Current strength is around 13000. Kharagpur doesn't have any airport so that's a drawback. Outside campus there is nothing it's just a village so no one prefers to go out but campus is 2200 acre which is huge. Various scholarships such as MCM (income basis), inspire (for M.Sc. course students ) etc. Are offered. There are many extracurricular activities which goes on through out the semester I will not specify any of them because they are huge in no. Which is actually specialty of IIT kgp over other IIT.

This is a must place to be. There are good placements, faculty, and environment.
Placements: The placements on the campus are decent in my college. I got placed in a coding firm called 'OakNorth bank, London'. Around, 95% of our students got placed. The average pay was around 8 LPA. The minimum pay was 4.5 LPA, and the maximum was as high as 35 LPA in India. The companies that visited ranged from giant MNC like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs to successful startups such as Oyo, Ola, and many new startups too. The students were hired for the various roles such as in core engineering sectors, coding, data analytics, finance, as well as consulting firm. Also, these companies hired the interns as well. But the number of students getting internships are not as high as placements. It ranged from 60-70%. The average stipend is around 20K - 30k per month. We have a placement cell called 'career development centre'. It is partially controlled by some of the 4th year students called 'placement committed members'. They work hard to give a better placement and internships to the students. They convince the companies to take more students and thus helps in improving the placement and internship scenarios to a good extent.
Infrastructure: We have a giant campus of 2200-acres. We have got many stadiums, which are designed for particular sports such as cricket, hockey, football, etc. We also have indoor badminton stadiums, tennis court. Along with these, we also have gymkhana, which is a student activity centre, which has a large gym, squash court and many meeting rooms for people controlling the culture, as well as techno-management fests. We have got a great Wi-Fi and LAN connection, which works 24*7. We also have high-quality labs with the modern equipment. Many students from the different college come to do experiments in our labs. All the classrooms are smart classrooms having the projector, blackboard, and air-conditioner. They can accomodate a large number of students. We have a night canteen in our hostels, which serves almost everything during the night hours and thus feed our hungry stomachs. The hostel rooms are decent with single and double bedded rooms. The senior students get the single rooms. We have the good medical facility as we have a 'BC Roy' government hospital inside our campus, which runs 24*7. They provide us with the free medicines up to 2 lacs per annum. I don't see anything lacking in our college infrastructure or facilities. I am proud of my college.
Faculty: All the faculty members are good and are experts in their fields. They are helpful and are highly qualified. The teaching quality is not up to the mark as they lack the motivation to teach because most of the students are not interested in studies here. Many are interested, but they are small in number. The blackboards and powerpoint presentations are used to teach in the classrooms. The student to faculty ratio is not good here. It needs a lot of improvement. IITs need to hire more teachers so that every student can be given a sufficient amount of attention. We get a lot of industry exposure through internships and projects. A large number of companies come to recruit us as interns as well as full-time employees. The course curriculum is good. We got to know many subjects, which gave us the freedom to pursue a career of our choice.
Other: We have one of the largest cultural fests of India called 'Spring fest'. It marks participation of a large number of students ranging from 5000-8,000 students. We host the largest techno-management fest of India called 'Kshitij'. The ambience is good during the fests. We receive the different scholarships based on the eligibility criteria. These include MCM scholarships, inspire scholarships, etc. We take part in the various extra-curricular activities such as in sports, tech-related events, social, and cultural events. These include choreography, dramatics, coding, quizzes, data analytics, and the various games such as cricket, tennis, badminton, etc.

Students have a great learning experience, lifetime opportunity.
Placements: Placement depends on the oil and gas industry. Almost 20% of the students got placed in core industry. Average salary package offered was 8 LPA. Everyone got an internship with an average stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month. There is good industry exposure, and placement cell is helpful.
Infrastructure: The college has multiple labs with all the required instruments for technical experience. There is a very good infrastructure with a gym, library and sports area. Hostel rooms are not up to the mark. Canteen food is good, but the hostel food is not good. No issues from infrastructure but the medical facilities needs improvement.
Faculty: Faculty have very good technical experience and have deep knowledge. They are quite helpful. Teaching methods used is board, presentation, discussion sheets. There is an industry exposure through practical exercise and internships. The course curriculum is as per industry needs.
Other: IITKGP is a very good college for overall grooming and exposure with good diverse experience. There are student clubs for participation and students are very friendly and mix well. It is a huge campus with all facilities. Market, hospital, and all the facilities needed are available inside the campus.

Review of IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: About 75 percent of students get placed here. In my specific course, it's a bit hard to get a job in our field, so most people go for data science or software jobs instead. The highest package offered is 31 LPA, and the average package offered is 11 LPA. Companies like ONGC show up, but internships for geology are pretty rare.
Infrastructure: My department actually has some cool equipment. Buildings and the grass outside are just okay. The best part is that we can use the study rooms and the library whenever we want. One weird thing is that there's no Wi-Fi at all. Luckily, the food and the workers at the hostel canteen are great. I also really like sports here. The college basically gives us everything we need for daily life.
Faculty: Honesty, teachers here are awesome. They really know their stuff, and they actually like teaching us. They're super easy to talk to and always help out if we are stuck. Because of how they explain things, lessons are way easier to understand. The syllabus is up-to-date. Exams are fair and not super easy, but not total nightmares either.
