At the undergraduate level, IITKGP offers four and five-year BTech, BSc. Five-year BArch and various other courses to students. IIT Kharagpur offers a four-year BSc course along with a five-year Integrated MSc course across six specialisations each. Those willing to pursue a postgraduate integrated course can take admission in BSc-MSc Integrated, criteria and admission process of which is same as that of BSc. Admission to both these programmes is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA counselling. Hostels at IIT Kharagpur are furnished with beds, tables, chairs, high-speed LAN ports, fans, lights and adequate electricity ports. The quantity of the aforementioned things may vary depending upon the occupancy of the room whether it’s single room, double sharing or triple occupancy sharing.

No, generally candidates cannot get direct admission in IIT Kharagpur. However, candidates can apply through the SCOPE (Science Olympiad) and SEA (Sports Excellence) schemes without standard JEE ranks. IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher, you can get direct admission to M.Tech programmes without a GATE score.

Yes, admissions at IIT Kharagpur are possible with 94% as the basic eligibility criteria is pass in Class 12th with a minimum of 75% aggregate. The accepted entrance tests are JEE Main,  JEE Advanced, and others. 

 IIT Kharagpur JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 ranged between 4182 and 4588 for the Mechanical Engineering branch. This the cutoff range for the General AI category. For the other categories cutoff range, students can check the table below.

If you get a good score in the JEE Main, you would then have to pass the exam of JEE Advanced for admission into IIT Kharagpur.
