Identified as an ‘Institute of Eminence', the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical and research university. It is the third IIT be set up by the Government of India and is autonomous in nature. Located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the IIT Madras campus is home to India’s first university-based research park- IITMR. IIT M Data Science: Online but Amazing.
Placements: IIT Placements 2024 have concluded. However, the final report for IIT Madras 2024 has not been released yet. Some of the top recruiters who participated in IIT Madras Placements include Apple, Google, Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto Ltd, Cetak Ltd, Qualcomm, etc. IIT Madras has announced that it placed about 80% of students in B.Tech and dual degree courses and 75% of students in M.Tech courses by April 30, 2024. A total of 1091 students were placed, and 256 companies participated in the placement drive for the academic session 2023-24.
Infrastructure: A modern lab and a well-stocked library assist the learners and teachers in carrying out innovative research. IIT Madras is a residential institute with nearly 550 faculty, 10,000 students, and over 2,000 administrative & supporting staff, located on a self-contained campus spanning about 250 hectares of beautiful wooded land. The campus offers a peaceful and modern lifestyle to students, faculty, staff, and their families. The Institute has excellent infrastructure available in individual departments and centres, and it has several centrally located facilities for researchers. The Institute has sixteen academic departments and a few advanced research centres in various disciplines of engineering and pure sciences, with nearly 100 laboratories organized in a unique pattern. IIT Madras also carries out several social impact programs to foster inclusive growth.
Faculty: The faculty is very experienced. They teach us with great enthusiasm. As it is an online course, there is no faculty-to-student ratio. Live sessions are organized almost every day to clear our doubts by teachers and teaching assistants.
Other: I chose this course because Data Science is one of the most important and upcoming booming fields.

Review of IITM bs degree foundation course in data science.
Placements: The course is very good and easy to use and the placement rates are excellent so many students get placed in by completing this course. It's also an opportunity to pursue another course side by side so we get double placement. They also provide internships for students.
Infrastructure: Since it's an online degree, we have a very suitable lifestyle and environment near me. I can easily access the course from any part of the world. When we visit the campus for a week for our paradox event, it's so much fun and all the hostels are very good.
Faculty: Faculty and curriculum are very good and conducting exams is also very convenient for students. Faculty members teach at a very good speed so people from non-CS backgrounds can also understand the material very well. And all the papers are conducted on Sunday.

Overall it is a good college. But my expectations are more.
Placements: First of all, this course is very boring due to the online classes. But the college is doing its best to engage students. And if we talk about placements, this scenario is not too good. But yes, lots of students are placed as interns. They are providing support.
Infrastructure: The courses are well structured. They start very simply. In the Foundation Diploma, B.Sc., you will learn basic statistics and math in foundations and additionally Python. After completing every level, they will provide certificates. And the duration of each semester is four months.
Faculty: BS faculty members are excellent evan their supports teams are very nice. College provide daily live classes with instructors. Overall instructor are fully supportive. But one disadvantages is professor are pre recorded. And pre-recorded is very boring.
Other: Over okay.

Absolutely satisfied by this programme.
Placements: We don't need to talk about placements when we are talking about NIRF 1 institute from past 6 years about placements. Above 80% students are placed. About package I am not having enough knowledge but IIT tag itself increases your CTC. NO NEED TO WORRY BEST COURSE.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of all IIT's aee the best hostels are clean too. Equipped with Wi-Fi ethernet cables
Fast speed internet
Very soon you will be experiencing JIO, AIRTEL, VODAFONE IDEA, BSNL 5G connection in the campus. Library and classrooms are spacious and good.
Faculty: Exams are tougher than rest offline courses as you have to get 40% min in every graded assignment and mock test when you quiz1, quiz2, end term exam will happen then too you will have to score more than 40% and average of all should be 50%. On average in one year there are approximately 160 exams.
Other: I chose this course becuase it was online and having offline exams by which it won't be considered as online course and having 160 exams already prooves it to be tougher than offline or on campus degrees.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: After completing the Diploma and degree level, we get a foundational certificate. Then, we can get placed accordingly.
Infrastructure: This is an online degree, and we only visit college during fests. The infrastructure is good. We visited in 2022 May for IITM Paradox, and it was awesome. We met our teachers. Numerous games, quizzes and competitions were held. Overall, I am fortunate enough to study at IIT Madras.
Faculty: Graded assignments are held every week and in the center. Exams are a good way to test the students' knowledge. The curriculum is the latest one and is up to date. You can take more or fewer subjects depending on how fast you want to complete this degree.
Other: Scholarships are provided according to your family's annual income. Extracurricular activities are held in between by our clubs and houses. There are 8 courses offered in our college.

Yes, COAP registration is mandatory for IIT Madras admissions done on the basis of GATE exam. The institute accepts GATE + COAP for both M.Tech and MA admissions. Any student choosing to register via GATE score at the institute must register on COAP portal as well.
