IIT Roorkee admissions 2026 are open. A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form will be available from Apr 23, 2026, to May 2, 2026, for admission to the BE/BTech course. Also, the JEE Advanced exam 2026 will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 and session 2 exams have been concluded for IIT Roorkee admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The results for session 2 might be announced on or before Apr 20, 2026.
- The GATE COAP 2026 registration link is active for admission to the ME/MTech programmes. The GATE COAP 2026 round 1 window to view offers and make a decision will be opened on May 11, 2026 (10 AM).
- The IIT JAM 2026 counselling registration is open for admission to the MSc course, with the last date being set on Apr 15, 2026. Also, the first admission list will be declared tentatively on May 25, 2026.

Yes, in order to take admission in IIT Roorkee BSc courses, candidates must first qualify JEE Main. Students who qualify JEE Main are then required to register and appear for JEE Advanced. This exam is conducted by one of the IITs every year by rotation under the supervision of a Joint Admission Board, which comprises of representatives from all the IITs. No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.
