Academics, campus, and placements - IITR ECE Review.
Placements: The placement rate for ECE is approximately 90%, with around 90% of students getting placed every year. The highest is more than 60 LPA, the lowest is 6-7 LPA, and the average is 17-18 LPA. Top recruiters are Texas, Intel, JP Morgan, Google, Oracle, and Cisco. Roles offered range from data science, software development, hardware design, VLSI, product management, to quant research.
Infrastructure: More than 10 hostels are there. We also have a coed hostel (married). Every hostel has its mess, stationery shops, gyms, study rooms, cyber rooms, fruit corners, and a tailor. Speak of any facility, we have it. The hospital has 24/7 facilities. The central library is open 24/7 around exam time and is fully air-conditioned. Food is fair and healthy; there are plenty of canteens available 24/7. Our college encourages sports and games and conducts intra/inter-bhawan sports events and many more.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, with most holding PhDs and conducting active research. They are helpful and very approachable. The curriculum is a bit tough, but can be cracked easily if you are a regular student. It’s very relevant. Exams are moderately difficult and focus more on conceptual questions. The pass percentage is very high at our institute.
Other: I don’t think I need to talk about IIT Roorkee’s events, fests, and campus crowd; everybody knows about its cultural fest THOMSO and tech fest CONGNIZANCE. These are the absolute highlights. I chose my course because I am deeply passionate about learning core ECE and hardware.

Nice infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: More than 90 students out of 120 were placed for the 2025 placement session in ECE at IITR. Many got placed in core ECE roles and software roles, and some even cracked quant positions. The average package offered is around 23 LPA-25 LPA. Internships aren't that fortunate. Around 60-65 students got internships on campus, with an average stipend of around Rs. 60,000 - Rs. 70,000.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms (particularly APJ Abdul Kalam LHC) are top-class. Hostels are a bit old but manageable, with a 24/7 canteen, but an average mess. Wi-Fi speed is good enough for any task be it gaming or studying, but improvements could be made.
Faculty: Faculty consists of highly qualified professors, many of them those who have dedicated more than half of their lives to a subject. The revised course curriculum seems cool, removing redundant subjects including compulsory management electives.

Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements are overall good, only in the please one of placement 50% of students get placed and we expect a 75% overall placement till phase 2. Various good companies, like Microsoft, Google, and Squarepoint came for placement. Even for interns various good companies have visited the campus and selected various students.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the campus is really good. We have various hostels with no time restrictions, and proper safety, which make the girls explore and develop freely and feel nature. Also, as the number of students is increasing, new hostels are built on a new architecture which makes us feel good.
Faculty: Exams are taken so seriously that u will completely check that you have not brought any cheats also, most of the professors make the questions at an advanced level, which makes us think out of the box. Professors give marks based on your creative thinking.

IIT Roorkee is one of the best engineering colleges in the world.
Placements: 93% of students in my course get placed in their final year. The average package is above 20 LPA. Google, Microsoft, Infosys, etc., are the top companies that come for recruitment. Above 90% of students from my course get internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are very good for all courses at IIT Roorkee. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Labs and classrooms are good, and Mahatma Gandhi Central Library is also at IIT Roorkee. Hostels are very good, providing single, double, and triple rooms. The mess services are above average and good.
Faculty: Faculty members at IIT Roorkee are really great. They have a lot of knowledge and are also very helpful to students. Their teaching skills are very different from others. They design the course curriculum in such a way that we always do well in the course. The semester exam level is high, as they ask about many creative things and new ideas.
Other: I have an interest in understanding things like how machines, mobile phones, and electronic devices work. So I chose this course.

Best college to crack JEE and come to this college. Best infrastructure and best faculty members.
Placements: Placements are very good. College provides a true return on investment. Around 95% of students were placed. The highest package is 20 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Two Sigma, Quanteye, Amazon, and Google. Internships are also very good, and around 60% of students get internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is so good and all types of sports activities are available. Wi-Fi is available on campus. Best food is available and there is a special dinner on weekends in which they make 10 different food items. Classrooms are so big and it is very clean.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and they reply to messages very fast. They teach next level with no competition. They are very qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is also good because they teach us from basic to advance which helps us a lot to understand and learn things in a better way.

Reality of B.Tech ECE course at IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: About 72% of students got placed on campus and about 50% got internships. Major roles offered are software engineer, systems design engineer, hardware engineer, analog, digital, embedded software engineer, etc. Top recruiting companies of our course are Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Uber, American Express, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs have required modern equipment for experiments and research with an internet connection across the campus. Classrooms and library are also great. All hostels have laundry, gym, canteen, and stationery services. The quality of food is moderate, and medical facilities are great. Sports are also highly encouraged with proper courts and coaches available for students to learn.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. However the recently revised course curriculum is not relevant, rather it tries to include a lot of courses in the period of 4 years by emerging two courses into one and adding inter-disciplinary courses. It is resulting in less focus on core electronics topics and also hindering the normal chronology of courses taught. Semester exams are hard and students get average marks.
Other: A lot of events are organised round the year involving inter-college interaction. The campus crowd is active in various fields whether it be tech, sports, or cultural activities encouraging everyone to get involved in some activity. The campus location is not so good. It has good restaurants but other than that there is nothing outside campus. Various scholarships are provided to students in need all round the year.

A good college and worth the money paid.
Placements: As far as ECE is concerned, placements have been around 70-75% with few high packages and foreign offers. Most of the ECE students take up placements in Software Development roles. While 15-20% do go towards the core side as well with the topmost core company being Texas Instruments and Samsung Research Institute. I think around 60% of students secured internships this year with the lesser percentage in core and mostly in SDE roles.
Infrastructure: I would say, the infrastructure is great. There is high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, a fully functional computer lab in the library, comfortable classrooms, spacious hostel rooms with almost instant complaints response.we also have good medical facilities for free of cost at Institute Hospital. All facilities for gym and sports, good mess food as far as my hostel Kasturba Bhavan is considered and many canteen options available.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality varies from professor to professor. Course curriculum is relevant according to the industry, students are also offered open electives in different domains like Economics, Psychology, etc. Semester exams difficult level and pass percentage depends on the course.

Great college with awesome campus life, excellent exposure and career opportunities.
Placements: I am enrolled in ECE (B.Tech). There are about 120 students in this course each year with a placement percentage of 90%. The highest package offered this year is 90 LPA and the lowest is 10 LPA with an average package of 28 LPA. There are many companies which recruits ECE students like Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Micron Limited, Quantbox, Quadai, Idea, Net, Oracle and many more. About 70% of students get internships from ECE and the top roles offered are SDE, Product manager, hardware manager, and consultant.
Infrastructure: The ECE department is very well-equipped with labs having the newest machinery and tools. 2 study rooms and high-speed WI-FI. For the hostel, I would say it is average. We have been given a single room with a cupboard, study table, Bed and fan. I don’t like the mess food too much as it lacks taste and variety.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They have high expertise in their subjects and most of them are post-doctorate from foreign universities and hence their teaching quality is also very good. About the course, I would say that most of it is relevant and meets the industry standards but there is some portion which is outdated and needs to be improved. Semester exams are of good level but if you have regularly attended classes and solve tutorials then you will do good in exams. The pass percentage is 90%.
Other: I chose this course as I am interested in semiconductors and chips and ECE offers me a great opportunity to pursue my interest. The best thing about this course is that it is very well structured with a proper syllabus, theory and practical’s. I wish there would be more industrial trips so that we would get to know about real-world problems in more detail.
