IIT Roorkee admission 2027 is open for some courses, depending on the specific entrance exam. A few more updates are given below:
- GATE 2027 Registration window for admission to the ME/MTech and Phd courses is now closed. The exam will be held from Feb 6 to Feb 7, 2027; Feb 13 to Feb 14, 2027; and Feb 20 to Feb 21, 2027.
- IIT JAM 2027 registration process for admission to the MSc course will conclude on Oct 19, 2026. The exam will be conducted on Feb 14, 2027.
- The CEED 2027 online registration for admission to the MDes course with regular fee will be ongoing till Oct 31, 2026. Further exam will be conducted in offline mode on Jan 17, 2027.
- The JEE Main 2027 session 1 exam dates have been announced on the official website for admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The exam will be held on Jan 22, 2027 to Jan 24, 2027 and Jan 28, 2027 to Jan 30, 2027 respectively.
- UCEED 2027 examination applications with regular fee for admission to the BDes courses are open till Oct 31, 2026. The UCEED 2027 exam will be held on Jan 17, 2027.

If a student wants to join the IIT Roorkee BTech or BSc programme, then appearing for JEE Advanced is mandatory. Students have to clear the JEE Advanced cutoff and participate in counselling to get a seat. However, for any non-BTech/ BSc programme, JEE Advanced is not required. Students may submit alternate exams instead.
MBA is the flagship programme of DOMS IIT Roorkee. Candidates need to meet both eligibility and selection requirements to get admission. The MBA admission process at DOMS IIT Roorkee is as under:
- Candidates must apply for CAT by the last date
- On clearing the required CAT cutoff, candidates are called the for PI round
- Final selection is done on the basis of the final cumulative score, which takes into account past academic record, performance in PI and work experience (if any)
IIT Roorkee admission to its flagship courses BArch and BTech is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced Counselling. For admission, students are required to apply for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced for admission to IIT Roorkee BTech. The aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in).
Followed by JEE Main, students are required to register for JEE Advanced. Next, candidates have to fill in the registration form, upload scanned certificates, and pay the application fee. The photo and signature in the online JEE Advanced application form will already be populated from the JEE Main application form.
To get admission in IIT Roorkee MSc, students have to appear for the IIT JAM exam. Students have to then particpate in centralised counselling through which seats are allocated. Selected students have to report for verification of documents and pay the admission fees to complete the process.

IIT Roorkee BTech fee is INR 8 lakh. Apart from this, students are required to pay the JEE Main application fee. The JEE Main application fee for a single paper (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Planning) at exam centers in India is INR 1,000 for General male candidates, INR 900 for Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL male candidates, INR 800 for all female candidates, and INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates. The library was established in 1848. The library is spread across an 85,000 sq. ft. area. It is a four-storeyed building. IIT Roorkee has 10 boy hostels, 3 girl hostels, and 6 hostels for married candidates. The campus has a new co-ed hostel, Vigyan Kunj. Hostels may accommodate Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, along with doctoral students. All the hostels have basic amenities like a cyber cafe, gym, Wi-Fi, water purifiers, common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance systems, etc. Students are assigned to hostels by the school administration after their freshman year. The hostels at IIT Roorkee are called Bhawans. Each Bhawan has a mess. Mess administration consists of a staff advisory, a chief advisory, and a student mess secretary. The hostel fee at IIT Roorkee ranges between INR 68,000 and INR 99,000. This annual hostel fee does not include mess charges.
