IIT Roorkee offers BTech specialisations on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The cutoff depends on a few factors such as category and gender. IIT Roorkee offers a four-year BTech programme across 11 specialisations along with a five-year integrated BTech + MTech programmes across two specialisations. The BTech course is the flagship programme of IIT Roorkee. The selection of candidates for the IIT Roorkee BTech programme is based on their JEE Advanced score. To be eligible for the same, aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with a valid score.
The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2025 consists of three steps: registration, form filling, and document upload, followed by payment of application fees.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

Utpal Borpujari is a National Award winning filmmaker, film critic &alumnus of IIT Roorkee. He is known for his work in Assamese cinema he directed critically acclaimed film Ishu which won 65th National Award for Best Assamese Film. He was also former journalist.
