- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registrations for session 2 started for IIT Roorkee admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The last date to register for the same is Feb 25, 2026. Further, the session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The GATE 2026 exam is underway for admission to ME/MTech and PhD courses, with the next sessions scheduled for Feb 14, 2026 and Feb 15, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
- The CEED results will be published on the official website for the MDes course on Mar 4, 2026.

IIT Roorkee was established in 1847 and is the seventh IIT recognised as an Institution of National Importance. IIT Roorkee is NAAC accredited and AICTE &UGC approved . IIT Roorkee is a public technical research university located in Uttarakhand. The college is the oldest technical institution in Asia that was given university status in 1949. In the year 2015, the highest package offered was 25 Lacs per annum and the average package was 10.55 Lacs per annum. This year the highest placement for ECE is 16 LPA. The placement drive is still going on, so stats may fluctuate. IIT Roorkee offers admission to the Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) programme through the JEE Main entrance exam. The eligibility for IIT Roorkee admission is decided by CSAB/ JoSAA. Currently, the institute has an annual intake of 192 students for the BTech programme. No, IIT Roorkee generally does not accept direct admissions. Students have to go through the selection rounds to get admission in the courses. This includes appearing for entrance exam + counselling. The institute mainly selects on an entrance basis only.
IIT Roorkee offers a four-year BTech programme across 11 specialisations along with a five-year integrated BTech + MTech programmes across two specialisations. The BTech course is the flagship programme of IIT Roorkee. The selection of candidates for the IIT Roorkee BTech programme is based on their JEE Advanced score. To be eligible for the same, aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with a valid score.
The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2025 consists of three steps: registration, form filling, and document upload, followed by payment of application fees.
Students may get admission in IIT Roorkee with 80% in Class 12 as the minimum aggregate ranges between 50% to 75% in Class 12 boards. However, admissions to the programmes at IIT Roorkee are done on entrance basis. Hence, Class 12 marks are not enough. Students also need to have valid entrance test scores.
DOMS IIT Roorkee MBA cutoff 2024 is not available on a public platform and is only accessible to students who appeared for the CAT exam via their account login. In 2024, the overall DOMS IIT Roorkee CAT cutoff 2024 was 95 for the General AI category students. The sectional CAT cutoff for the same stood at 50. For more details, refer to the table below:

Aspirants must keep in mind that exam difficulty level cannot be determined by organising body. JEE Advanced paper is not made by one single IIT; but it is prepared by experts from multiple institutes. Difficulty level of exam is independent of the IIT conducting exam.
