The procedure for taking BTech admission at JIS College of Engineering is as follows:
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by JIS College of Engineering, which includes passing Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and securing a minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 in PCM.
Candidates must qualify for either WB-JEE or JEE Main or AMPAI.
Candidates must apply for admission to the BTech programme by appearing in WBJEE, JEE Main, or CEE AMPAI.
The merit list is prepared by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) for counseling.
Candidates must attend the counseling session and select the course and college of their choice based on their rank and availability of seats.
Candidates must submit the required documents, including Original/Downloaded Admit & Rank Card (JEE Main/WBJEE/AMPAI), Original Allotment Sheet from JEE /AMPAI (As applicable), Attested Xerox of Xth, XIIth Admit & Marksheet, 6 Copies of Coloured Stamp Size Photograph, Medical, Eye & Blood Group Certificate, and Original Migration/School Leaving Certificate.

JEE Main is conducted in two sessions each year, with session 2 usually held in April. For the current cycle, NTA had announced the JEE Main Session 2 exam dates, and the exams for Paper 1 (BTech) were conducted on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8. The registration for session 2 is now closed. Now, prospective candidates should wait for the announcement of JEE Mains dates for the academic batch of 2026.

JIS College of Engineering has been one of the top institutes in the state of West Bengal.
