Good Placements and Crowd.

Placements: My course is CSBS, it’s a curriculum by TCS. TCS has assured a percentage of placements. Our college has a really good placement and also a great training cell. They keep a lot of mock interviews, aptitude tests, and group discussions. All these cells are managed by students.

Infrastructure: The college is pretty good. The food provided is clean and tasty. They also provide us with medical support whenever required. The college facilities are limited but have all the basic amenities. The classrooms are big enough to accommodate all of us, and there is a library, an indoor auditorium, etc.

Faculty: The faculty is knowledgeable and well-accommodating. They clear our doubts whenever. The curriculum was made by TCS, so it’s very relevant for the job field right now. The internal exams are not too tough but not too easy either. Since the course is structured by TCS, it makes us industry-ready.

Other: I chose this course as it resonated with my interests. I am interested in teaching and business, so it equally combines both. The seniors are very friendly and they do not gatekeep anything and share whatever knowledge they have by conducting workshops. The infrastructure is the only downside, but the faculty and crowd make up for it.

Prime location campus and good for placements.

Placements: Since Computer Science and Business Studies were recently introduced in 2024, this branch has not seen any passouts, and no placements have been done for it. The Computer Science branch, on the other hand, has a placement percentage of 90%. Famous companies like Twitter, TCS, Wipro, Bosch, and Deloitte are involved in placements. In the CS branch, there are around 90% placements with 110 placement offers for a class of 80. Top roles offered include System Developer, Data Analyst, and System Analyst.

Infrastructure: The men's hostel and women's hostel are equipped with Wi-Fi, gym equipment, and sports equipment. The college library mostly has books related to academics and is short of novels, magazines, and other materials. The men's hostel mess has a quite good menu every day with both non-veg and veg options, while the women's hostel is ill-maintained. No medical facilities are available in the college or hostel.

Faculty: The teachers are knowledgeable and social, guiding students very well to prepare them for the exams. The curriculum is relevant to the present situation but could be improved to better prepare students for the industry. Exams occur twice in a semester, with an overall end-semester exam at the end. The exams are relatively easy and straightforward to pass.

Other: I chose this course because I found it relevant in today's generation compared to CS, and I have an interest in this subject. I would improve the course curriculum as it is up to date but could include more complex and advanced topics.

Great college for placements, not so great for college life and programs.

Placements: We are currently the first batch of the Computer Science and Business Systems course. Our college offers the best placements based on our subjects, mainly managerial positions. We also have very strong support from our alumni, due to which our college offers great opportunities.

Infrastructure: Our college offers great labs and great faculty for the students who want to develop their skills. Our college has the first 3D printing and Cognicor labs in Kerala. Even though our college hostel has less capacity, it offers great food and accommodation.

Faculty: Our college has great faculty members, and they supervise each and every one of our works and assignments thoroughly. We have a very high percentage, and our internal exams cover all the important topics for semester exams. They provide the best study materials for the exam.

Other: Our college has a smaller area and fewer programs because they mainly focus on studies and placements. But due to our smaller area, it helps in socializing and building contacts with all students regardless of their year and course.

Great placement opportunities. Relationship between seniors and juniors is positive and supportive.

Placements: Our batch has been offered an internship from Oracle worth 50,000 per month. Being in the third year, no students have been placed yet, as full-time recruitment typically happens in the final year. However, several students have completed internships in various companies.

Infrastructure: Our college provides an excellent environment for innovation and hands-on learning. One of the features is the FAB lab, which is equipped with modern technologies such as 3D printers. The library is well equipped. There is only an official men's hostel and not a ladies hostel.

Faculty: Curriculum is industrial-oriented as it involves both business and technology, which is significantly relevant in today's world. Faculties are very helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is pretty good. The pass percentage is above 80%.

The campus is good for placements. But the college lacks proper infrastructure.

Placements: Since CSBS is a newly introduced branch in MODEL ENGINEERING COLLEGE , there are no passout batches as of now . Computer science and business studies were introduced in 2022. Speaking of placements in the overall computer science branch , students have a placement percentage of 90%. Last year, in a class of 70 , students got 110 placement opportunities. The lowest package offered was 6 L per annum and the highest was from Twitter, which was 36 L p.a. Most students got a package between 8 and 12 lpa. The top recruiting companies were TCS , Wipro , Bosch, and Twitter . Internships were done by all students, as it is mandatory for every student to do internships in their 3rd year . The top roles offered were system analyst and data analyst.

Infrastructure: One thing model engineering college lacks in is infrastructure. The sports courts and equipment are ill maintained. The men's hostel and women's hostel are equipped with WiFi . Men's hostel has gym facilities and sports equipment, while the women's hostel does not . The mens hostel has exceptional food menu and hygiene, while the women's hostel mess is poor in terms of hygiene .

Faculty: The teachers in the Computer science department are well qualified and are helpful for students in terms of research , projects and assignments. The course is relevant and up-to-date and does make the students industry-ready up to an extent. Overall satisfied with the faculty.

Other: I chose this course because I thought this course was more relevant in this day and age and makes the students more industry-ready than choosing the normal Computer science . I would want a more advanced level of curriculum to keep the curriculum up to date, as the curriculum in Kerala Technological University for the CSBS branch seems a little dated. The annual event, which is a flagship event in our college, is our tech fest named Excel and is South India's one of the best tech fests happening . The college has various clubs to cater to each and every other student's taste. It also helps the students be proactive in their college life.
