Top recruiters do not prefer the ICE branch as most have not heard of it, But still, companies like Samsung, SCB, Amazon can allow sitting for placements.

Good college with decent placement opportunities, good infrastructure, and campus life.
Placements: Placements have been good, and around 92% of students from my branch (instrumentation and control) got placed in 2024. The highest package is around 26 LPA by Nvidia. The average package is 10 LPA and the lowest package is 5 LPA. The 2025 placement season is currently ongoing and the currently the highest package given by Microsoft is 52 LPA. Various top MNCs like Amazon, Meta, and PSUs like BPCL are visiting for software and core respectively. We might see an increase in average placements and packages this year.
Infrastructure: Overall, the hostel experience in my first year has been good. Hostel infrastructure is well-maintained and hygienic. Hostels are on a sharing basis double-seater and four-seater in the first year (depending upon our hostel). Mess food is quite good as well and contains a good variety of cuisines. The hostel has a decent Wi-Fi facility. The library is newly constructed so its overall infrastructure is quite spacious and well-equipped with AC, Wi-Fi, and computers. Medical facilities are good for mild diseases. There are multiple canteens on campus like snackers, night canteen, dominos, Nescafe, and juice shops. Sports facilities are good.
Faculty: Faculty members depend upon the department although in the first year, the majority of subjects are the same among all branches. Teaching quality is decent among professors, and some are good but some do not put any effort into teaching. Some courses are not currently updated according to the industry standards. Exams are moderately difficult and we have to put in efforts to maintain a good CGPA throughout your course.
Other: I have an interest in electronics so I chose this course. Placements are quite decent as compared to other alternatives and I am getting according to my JEE rank. The campus is located on a little outskirts of Jalandhar. I enjoyed it a lot in fests. Overall, my experience has been good and I hope it will help students.

Really good college (must have experience).
Placements: Over 80% of the students get placed each year with major recruitments being from PSUs like HPCL and BPCL along with some private companies like Reliance Petroleum and EIL. Major recruitments are in the energy sector and some of the students are placed in the core along with some others in teaching companies like Google and Microsoft. Overall the placements are diverse in field and help students land the jobs of their interest.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is almost new and all the services can be availed by students almost at any time of the day, labs classrooms and libraries are equipped with Wi-Fi and are fully air-conditioned. The hostels are also decent though a little congested but the food is good. Medical facilities are free of cost along with college-owned ambulances. The students get an athletic ground with night light for their interest in sports.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive and you get to work under them if the student is sincere in his/her work. They are well-qualified and experienced. The courses offered are relevant to industry standards and the examination conducted is also not that tough. Over 75% of students pass easily.
Other: I have been in college for about 2 years now college life is amazing the college fests the people around the environment everything is amazing. The campus is completely secure from any external threats 24/7 surveillance cameras along with on-duty security guards. Overall the college is amazing and offers a must-have experience.

Experience at NITJ as a first year student.
Placements: The latest placements of the 2024 batch are pretty good, with a placement percentage of around 92 percent, and the highest package is 26 LPA, the median package being 7.5 LPA, and the average package is 10.2 LPA. The top recruiter is NVIDIA. Internship opportunities are a little less, mostly for top 15 to 20 percent students only, but many students get off-campus internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, as all the classrooms are AC and very neat and clean. There is problem with Wi-Fi as it will not work in your classrooms I don't know the reason; even most mobile networks are also not available in classes. Again, the reason is unknown for me till now. I am in BH1 hostel, and the infrastructure and facilities of Wi-Fi, mess, and sports are good. There is a computer room, sports room, badminton, and volleyball court within the hostel itself.
Faculty: Teachers are pretty helpful some teachers try their best for giving quality education but some don't care about it. Exams are of moderate level and depend on teacher itself. Also, in every semester, you have to score 40 marks out of 100 to pass. There are some steps taken to make course industry-ready, as one or two core subjects are taught from first year so the first year is not all about revision of what you have studied in previous classes. Additionally, all the teachers here have Ph.D.s in their field so they are well qualified.

College is excellent for me as it provides all the basic needs.
Placements: 91.67% of students are placed in ICE branch. The highest package is 26 LPA, and the average package is 10.63 LPA. Recruiting companies are Samsung, Bharat Petroleum, Adobe, Adani, HMEL, Aarti Industries Limited, Vedanta, Reliance, Flipkart, Nayara, TCS, Emphasis, and Allen. 39 students got IT sector offer, 58 students got core sector offer, and 1 student got non-core sector offer.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi all over the campus including hostel, class, library, seminar hall, and other buildings. Labs are well organised and cleaned. All the instruments are there in the lab. Classrooms are also very organized with AC and Wi-Fi is also there. There is a projector in every class. There are 2 libraries on the campus. Both libraries are good with excellent Wi-Fi and AC. Hostel is excellent except for some old hostels. There are all the necessary things in the hostel. Quality of food is good, and also for the canteen. There is a dispensary on the campus and an ambulance facility in case of emergency. Sports are good in college. All types of game equipment and grounds are there on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching quality is very nice. It is the relevant course. 60-80% syllabus of ICE is the same as that of ECE therefore, tech and non-tech job opportunities are there. The semester exams are decently tough like other prestigious colleges, and minimum 8 CG is required to sit for placement.

Well detailed and explained review about NIT JALANDHAR.
Placements: As I'm a 2nd-year student, I've heard from seniors that placements are okay in the Instrumentation and Control Technology branch. Like it's the end of January, and approximately 30 students are placed out of approximately 110. The lowest package is around 3.5 LPA, and the highest is around 44 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for some departments is very nice, like Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation and Control Technology. The library is okayish from the infra side, but a new library has been built that is nice, although it's not open yet. There are 4 canteens, all are nice, and there are both veg and non-veg canteens. The sports facility is also very nice, with inter-NIT tournaments, intercollege tournaments, etc.
Faculty: Teachers of the first year are not good; they are well-qualified and knowledgeable but don't teach in a nice way. However, from the 2nd year onwards, core subject teachers teach well. The course makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate to tough as the syllabus is very large and time is less. The pass percentage is 40%.

If you are getting admission in ICE in NITJ just go for it, man. First of all, it is one the rarest branches present in the country with lots of work and scope in the industry. Only 20k students appear for the GATE so you can get a PSU very easily. (Topper of ICE Gate 2018 is from NITJ along with 1
