CUET 2025 exams will begin from 13 May 2025. Colleges accepting CUET scores will release their cut off lists once NTA announces the result. Candidates preparing for the CUET to get admission to top colleges for 2025-26 UG admissions must check the list of CUET colleges offering admission at 80-89 percent in this article. Also know the UG courses offered under this percentage.
Many students wonder if scoring 80-89 percent in CUET UG is enough to secure admission to a good college. With increasing competition, universities now consider CUET scores as a key admission criterion. While a good CUET score varies by university and programme, an 80-89 percent range can still secure admission to reputed central, state, and private universities. Institutions such as Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University, B.R. Ambedkar University, and Tezpur University offer various CUET undergraduate courses for students within this score range. This article provides a list of colleges accepting 80-89 percent, along with the courses they offer and their expected CUET UG Cut Off.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions to central and other CUET participating universities. CUET 2025 exam will take place from 13 May 2025 in CBT mode. Once the CUET UG results are declared on the official website – cuet.nta.nic.in, universities will release their CUET UG cut-off lists. Based on these cut-offs, aspiring candidates can apply for admission to their preferred universities and courses.

CUET UG Result 2025
NTA will release CUET UG results 2025 after the exam is conducted. CUET 2025 UG exam will be scheduled between 13 May 2025 and 03 June 2025. The mode of examination will be CBT (Computer Based Test). Candidates preparing to take the exam are advised to check the official website of NTA for the CUET UG 2025 Datesheet. This year, NTA has mentioned CUET exam dates for candidates in their CUET city intimation slip 2025.
How to Calculate CUET Percentage?
CUET Percentage can be calculated with the help of CUET Raw Score and Total Marks. Raw Score is the score obtained by the candidates in the CUET UG exam and CUET Total Marks is the sum of marks of all subjects from the three sections based on CUET UG Subject Combination for a specific course at a university. The formula to calculate the CUET Percentage is:
CUET Percentage = (CUET Raw Score/Total Marks)*100
For instance, a student's CUET Raw Score is 680, and he/she applied for B.A. (Hons) in Political Science at Delhi University. According to CUET DU Subject Mapping, "Any one Language from Section I & Any three CUET domain subjects from Section II" is required. As we know, the total marks per subject for Section I and Section II is 250. The total marks in this case would be 1000. Now, the CUET percentage of the student will be:
CUET Percentage = (680/1000)*100 = 68%

Multiple factors affecting CUET cut off for DU, include:
CUET UG 2025 Normalised Score

The above steps will be applicable only if instittues release the CUET UG cut offs. Universities like Delhi University does not released CUET cut off. Candidates will know the college/course allocated on the basis of the preferences filled by the candidate while filling the application form.
National Testing Agency (NTA) does not release the CUET UG cutoff. Once the CUET results are declared, the socres are shared with the participating universities and role of NTA ends with the declaration of results. CUET UG 2025 cutoff will be released by the CUET participtaing universities seperatley. Candidates will be able to check the course wise and category wise cutoff. The CUET UG 2025 cut off will begin relasing soon after the counselling registrations are over.

What is a Good Score in CUET?
A good CUET score is typically 85% and above, but it depends on the course chosen and the targeted university. For competitive courses in top CUET central universities, such as Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, or Jawaharlal Nehru University, a higher percentage is required, often above 95%. However, for courses in mid-range or CUET state universities, a score between 80-89 percent can secure a good seat, especially in subjects like humanities, commerce, or general science.
How to Attain a Good Score in CUET?
Aspiring candidates preparing for the CUET UG 2025 must check the following tips to ensure they attain a good score in the CUET UG Exam:
- Ensure you know the detailed CUET UG syllabus for each CUET subject.
- Attempt regular CUET UG mock tests and practice papers available online to familiarize yourself with the NTA CUET exam pattern, manage time better, and improve exam speed.
- Focus on your CUET domain-specific subjects and NCERT textbooks. Most questions in CUET are based on the Class 12 syllabus.
