RGIPT BTech Admission 2024: How to Apply?
RGIPT BTech course admission 2024 is entrance-based as the institute accepts the rank and scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains. Candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme must fill out the application form, appear for an entrance exam and, finally pay the admission fees. Given below is the detailed RGIPT BTech admission process:
STEP 1: RGIPT BTech Application Process 2024
Interested candidates should submit the application form online. Candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu and, Kashmir are exempted from entering the Aadhaar number in the application form. However, during the admission, they have to produce any Government-approved identity proof such Passport/ Ration Card/ Bank Passbook/ Other valid government identity card. Apart from the institute's application form, candidates are also required to fill out the JEE Main application form and JEE Advanced application form. The applicant shall follow the following RGIPT BTech application process:
Step 1.1: Register as a new student and proceed to login
Step 1.2: Pay the non-refundable RGIPT BTech application fees of INR 600 + INR 108 (Taxes) for SC/ ST/ PwD and female category candidates and, INR 1200 + INR 216 (Taxes) for all other candidates.
Step 1.3: Fill in the personal information, address, contact details and, academic qualification details.
Step 1.4: Fill out the JEE (Advanced)/ JEE (Mains) details, bank details and, upload necessary documents.
Step 1.5: Preview and submit the application form.
STEP 2: RGIPT BTech Selection Criteria 2024
Candidates are shortlisted based on the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains scores. During the preparation of the merit list, preference will be given to JEE Advanced qualified candidates and, if seats remain vacant in any of the branch after completion of the seat allotment in regular rounds, then those vacant seats will be filled based on JEE Mains rank.
STEP 3: RGIPT BTech Seat Allotment

RGIPT BTech curriculum is divided into semester-pattern. Hence, the curriculum includes subjects semester-wise and is the amalgamation of Departmental Core, Departmental Elective and, Open Elective courses. - Almost 80% of students were placed in very good and reputed companies like ONGC, Halliburton, Shell, OIL, etc. for petroleum engineering branch. The highest package offered was INR 24 LPA, and the average package was around INR 11 LPA
- The infrastructure of the college is good. Wi-Fi speed is 100 mbps. There are labs for Physics and Chemistry. The facilities, like washing machines, are there in the hostel. There is a health center for students. Mess is good. Sports facilities are there.

RGIPT BTech course admission 2024 is entrance-based as the institute accepts the rank and scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains. However, during the preparation of the merit list, preference will be given to JEE Advanced qualified candidates by the institute and, if seats remain vacant in any of the branch after completion of the seat allotment in regular rounds, then those vacant seats will be filled based on JEE Mains rank.
JEE Advanced will be held for 6 hours in total. There are 2 paper in the exam and each paper is of 3 hours duration. This makes the total time of the exam as 6 hours. The exam pattern varies each year. There are 2 papers in the exam. Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced will comprise three separate sections wherein questions will be asked from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. There will be negative marking for answering any question incorrectly in the exam.
The JEE Main syllabus 2026 is yet to be released. As per the last year syllabus, the JEE Main exam topics include
- 19 Chapters in Physics (Also 1 chapter for experimental skills)
- 20 Chapters in Chemistry
- 14 Chapters in Mathematics
